Bowie story depressingly uncool - I was friends with his son at school (used to go drinking in the woods of a weekend), and it wasn't the Done Thing to be impressed with DB. So I said no thanks, I'll not have a meal out with you when your dad comes to visit. All much more boring than the headline "turned down dinner with DB"
