This is a thread for all fans of the weekday soap Doctors, BBC1, 1.45pm.

Regulars, please sign in at reception. Mrs T is verrrrrrry insistent. Any newbies that want to join and admit they watch this second rate soap are welcome too. The more the merrier.

So:

  • Zara and Daniel: will they get back together or won't they?
  • TBFE and 6tl: will it happen? If it does, that's going to be a switch off moment for me.
  • The lovely Mrs T and the Rev: Please don't let him be a serial killer.
  • Al, Kev, Jas and Heston: they need some action scriptwriters. Get on the case.
  • Jimmi and FOD: Meh! Couldn't care less really.

Enjoy the banter, it is often better than the programme Grin

Yes Gobby STFU. Angry

cinnamongreyhound · 19/04/2013 14:09

Oh my god, why can't she drop it?

Sparklingbrook · 19/04/2013 14:10

Is Mrs T telling porkies perchance?

cinnamongreyhound · 19/04/2013 14:11

Oh that's really :(

HoggyTruffle · 19/04/2013 14:11

Is there a spa in Droitwich Spa?

Sparklingbrook · 19/04/2013 14:14

Salt Water Hoggy. We used to have the Brine Baths where you could go and have a float in the v salty water. It was fab. Shut now though. Sad

Raahh · 19/04/2013 14:14

Poor Mrs TSad

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 19/04/2013 15:44

Awww, just watched today's, poor Mrs T. I don't get a good feeling about The Rev, he's just not right for her. She needs a more manly man.

As for Al, well. Words fail me.

Sparklingbrook · 19/04/2013 17:16

YY Who. She needs someone less wet basically. Grin

MsNobodyAgain · 19/04/2013 17:26

I just cried at the Mrs T bit Blush

"I think that is why part of me came here, because I just wanted to get out of the sun"

I'll get me coat... Blush

I rewound that part about three times because I kept missing exactly what she said. Lovely acting.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 19/04/2013 17:35

Oh I can't wait to see today's - was at Alton Towers again today watching DD go on kiddy rides "all by myself". Her favourite phrase at the minute. She's just hit the next level of height where they let them go on by themselves and she is revelling in it. So now instead of spending a day on boring kiddy rides I spend the day standing outside boring kiddy rides. Not exactly an improvement.

Looking forward to DD and DH going to bed so I can have the TV to myself for Doctors and a large glass (or two) of wine.

MsNobodyAgain · 19/04/2013 17:42

It was good acting today. I wanted to slap Gobby and hug MrsT.

Anne growing up fast, eh. Smile

I like it when Gobby & Mrs T are in it.

Yes she is, MsN. She is Little Miss Independent now, she's 4 going on 14.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 19/04/2013 19:40

Just watched. Cried at Mrs T's story. She is a brilliant actress. As is Gobby actually. Doctors has quality actors for a daytime soap. Much better than the evening ones. It really doesn't get the recognition it deserves.

My great aunt lived in Droitwich Spa! I wonder if she knew Mrs T's mother-in-law? ignores fact v fiction issues

Sparklingbrook · 19/04/2013 19:42

Too right Anne. Dev in Corrie is so bad I had to start a thread about him.

Oodsigma · 19/04/2013 20:06

You can't normally spot the acting for the scripts though!

Loving the Doctors wedding party!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 19/04/2013 20:26

I know, Sparkling, Dev is bad (but comically so) but Paul the fireman & Sean "the only gay in the street" are dismally bad. Mind you, so are most of the others. (Dev at least has the saving grace of being the inspiration for Dr Jimmi's name!)

Watching Eastenders at the minute and they are all shocking too, and the storylines are crap.

Doctors is ground-breaking - everyone was going on about the Tyrone domestic violence story but Doctors did it with Heston a year before (and better IMO).

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 19/04/2013 20:31

Haven't watched EE for years, but Corrie is my first love soap-wise, been watching for at least 30 years . Agree about Dev, Paul and Sean, but they have got some good ones too (Eileen, Steve, Emily, Norris, Lloyd, Mary, Roy and his mum, Jason sometimes). How is Dev an inspiration for Dr Jimmi?

Raahh · 19/04/2013 20:33

Anne- I agree about the Heston/Marina storyline. It was very well done, without histrionics. And the fact it lead to the cricket bat thing-it was believable.

Ok, there are a lot of WTF moments- but at least Doctors is entertaining. Eastenders is just depressing, and I stopped watching Corrie years ago.

Raahh · 19/04/2013 20:36

And if the writers deny us a TRev wedding, we will just have to have our own party.Grin

AnneEyhtMeyer · 19/04/2013 20:50

I also like the fact that Heston changed after the whole Marina thing, Raahh. So it was realistic. You just know in a couple of weeks we won't hear another word about Kirsty from Tyrone.

Eastenders has just totally lost the plot, and Corrie is pretty much hopeless now too. The fire was unrealistic and obviously slotted in to make the move to Salford Quays and HD TV possible.

Whoknows - When they created the character of Dr Jimmi he was going to be an Asian doctor, and the producer named him after an actor he knew called Jimmi Harkishin (sp?) who now plays Dev!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 19/04/2013 20:51

Yes, if we have no wedding we could maybe have a summer fete?

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 19/04/2013 21:03

We need a meet-up don't we?

Anne - well, that really is an impressiviely trivial bit of information!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 19/04/2013 21:12

It was on the FAQ on the BBC Doctors website, WhoKnows. Read it a few weeks ago and I was so stunned it stuck it my brain (unlike anything useful). Grin
