Exactly the same airwalk I used to be allowed the TV on for 10 minutes when I went to bed. If I'd hear my mum come upstairs, I'd quickly turn it off and pretend to be asleep Grin One day she caught me and cut the plug off my TV [shocked] I didn't do it again!

Sparklingbrook · 19/03/2013 20:32

God this is dull, and obvious.

girliefriend · 19/03/2013 20:32

I am quite anti tech anyway so don't think it will be too much a problem anyway, although dd is only 7yo so maybe that will change. She def will not have a telly or computer games in her bedroom though.

Omg twins look hard work!!

Is it draining? Hmm

SashaSashays · 19/03/2013 20:33

That Jake is such a knob.

landofsoapandglory · 19/03/2013 20:33

I haven't got a clue what time DS1(18) goes to sleepBlush. He gets up with his alarm and he isn't late for school. He's an adult so I have no control over it now, if DS2 had the TV, iPad or PS3 on I'd turn it off or turn the WiFi off.

Nearly every Monday I see that DNeph(15) has been on Fb in the early hours. I doubt my sister knows at the time, or cares enough to do anything about it!

Sparklingbrook · 19/03/2013 20:34

Hasn't Supernanny covered this in minute detail on a bajillion occasions?

mummybare · 19/03/2013 20:35

Which techniques that they have featured do you think should be age restricted, out of interest?

JazzAnnNonMouse · 19/03/2013 20:35

It looks like it's harder with the twins as one down other up on repeat!

SashaSashays · 19/03/2013 20:37

How seedy did that sound lol

Sasha.

Blimey 5 weeks of this. Shock

girliefriend · 19/03/2013 20:39

I think I would try and separate the twins so maybe one could go to sleep in their parents bed and then they transfer to his own bed once he is asleep. Having them both in the same room winding each other up is hard work.

I could never let a baby CIO. But once they are old enough to understand what is happening I won't have the piss taken out of me. Dd5 knows if there's any rubbish after she's gone up there will be no story/tv/insert relevant thing tommorow.

JazzAnnNonMouse · 19/03/2013 20:41

How do they know which technique to use?

FadBook · 19/03/2013 20:41

Mummybare - I just don't believe that newborns and/or babies should be 'sleep trained', that was my point. It is natural and normal for babies to wake in the night. The method they are using for the 13 month old does appear to be a nice method for her age. Did I use this method when my dd wasn't sleeping from 4 - 12 months? No, I wouldn't.

SashaSashays · 19/03/2013 20:42

Don't all of these just demonstrate how the parents have let it get too far. It's not rocket science.

girliefriend · 19/03/2013 20:42

I don't think they are advocating cio, advice sounds normal and sensible.

scurryfunge · 19/03/2013 20:43

Those twins will keep me awake tonight!

FadBook · 19/03/2013 20:43

I agree girliefriend, I thought they were going to advocate it tbh, so I'm pleasantly suprised Smile

toldmywrath · 19/03/2013 20:44

My children have all left home(sob-they are in their 20's btw) But toldcat keeps me awake by chewing & jumping on me (no use shutting the bedroom door, as she meows & scratches constantly) Also, our house is such that the toldcat cannot be prevented from coming upstairs. Any suggestions?
Sorry if this seems trite!

FierceBadIggi · 19/03/2013 20:45

I was born in the 70s. No facebook etc, but I used to lie awake till early hours listening to Radio Luxembourg on my personal stereo and daydreaming...

Shybairns · 19/03/2013 20:45

I would definitley separate the little twins if it was possible. They're a tag team geeing each other up.

SashaSashays · 19/03/2013 20:45

I didn't think they would do CIO, but it might be good for them to do CC as lots of people confuse the two.

scurryfunge · 19/03/2013 20:46

Toldmywrath, try rapid return or controlled meowing.

Shybairns · 19/03/2013 20:47

Jake is irritating!
