(This is a thread for all fans of the weekday soap Doctors, BBC1, 1.45pm)

Now, we're in a bit of a dull spell. We need it bringing back to life. Charge the paddles, call 'clear' and mentally zap this soap back to life.

Hang in there people. It will get better I may be lying Grin

Anyway, I'm sulking.

Where are the Easter films? You can't have Easter without a 5 hour biblical epic!
I demand Ben Hur. or The Robe.

MsNobodyAgain · 30/03/2013 15:50

Awww, Ben Hur. Brings back fond memories of my dear departed step-dad. Every year without fail he sat through that epic.

Shouldn't there be a Julius Ceaser film on or something? I bet they palm us off with a poncy Hollywood remake. Pah!

Raahh · 30/03/2013 15:53

I used to sit through 'Jesus of Nazareth', with the lovely Robert Powell, every year when I was a kid. I loved it.

And 'The 10 Commandments' - over blown Hollywood epics. They don't make 'em like that any moreSad

MsNobodyAgain · 30/03/2013 15:56

Sad indeed. Just checked tomorrows listings and it's a toss up between 'True Grit' and 'The Mummy' [buhmm]

OP posts:
MsNobodyAgain · 30/03/2013 15:58

Jason and the Argonauts...now THAT was a film worth watching. Not seen that in ages.

OP posts:
MsNobodyAgain · 30/03/2013 15:58

Not that it's on. I'm just musing. Don't be getting all excited like.

My dad used to love the Sinbad the sailor films- the really old ones, with the terrible (but cutting edge at the time) special effects. Usually tortoises with bits stuck to them, pretending to be monsters. They were great.

MsNobodyAgain · 30/03/2013 16:44

'Tortoises with bits stuck to them'. Arf.

Don't forget the geckos/lizards. Twas many a dinosaur movie made out of them.

That picture is great. Kids today, with their fancy-schmancy 3-d malarky, and computer animation don't know they're born

cinnamongreyhound · 30/03/2013 18:57

Dh loves any film with monsters like that!

We are huge mummy fans in my house, lost count of the number of times I've seen it.

Sparklingbrook · 30/03/2013 18:58

Ooh look, a realistic mouse.

cinnamongreyhound · 30/03/2013 19:16

Finger mouse!!!

MsNobodyAgain · 30/03/2013 19:23

I like the Mummy films cinnamon. Very entertaining.

Fingermouse, gosh, that brings back memories. We'll be talking about Captain Pugwash next. Da da da la da, da da da la dah, da da da da da da da da da da, da da de la da, da da da la da da da da da da

(just played that off You Tube, the dcs loved it!)

Oodsigma · 30/03/2013 19:58

Noooo not more flashbacks!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 30/03/2013 21:37

Oh yes, Raahh, Jesus of Nazareth! The nuns made us watch that every Easter on the last day of term. Usually followed by a slideshow of their trip to the Holy Land. What a treat! [bugrin]

The Ten Commandments is on Sky Greats at 2.20pm. I don't know why I'm bothering looking anyway, the TV is controlled by DH and DD when they are at home and awake.

MsNobodyAgain · 31/03/2013 11:46

I wonder if Sky Greats is free or you have to have one of them fancy subscriptions. [bugrin]

Like you Anne my tv is controlled by the dcs so I rarely get chance to watch anything when they are here.

I wonder what type of eggs the Doctors cast would give each other:

Gobbyplod would leave Gobby a Milk Tray one, with a rose. "Awww, Rob...come here. That's lovely that is"

Daniel will have found a filthy egg containing lingerie for Zara. "Oh goodness Daniel. Really?"

The Rev will have hand decorated an egg in traditional Botswanan colours for Mrs T. "Oh, Reverrrrrrrrand"

(Disclaimer: dcs are at my mums and I have time to kill). Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!
I've been up since 6am. But I know it was really 5.

Not as tired as dh is going to be since he was working when the clocks went forward- so has lost an hours sleep. We are going to my mother's for dinner- I'm just hoping he doesn't fall asleep there (my mother and dh don't exactly get onGrin).

I am watching 'Annie' Grin whilst the kids run riot upstairs.
(The only other film i could find on my rubbish freeview was the 'George and Mildred ' movieGrinGrin

I don't expect Jimmi eats chocolate. And what happened to his running?
6tl probably likes really bitter chocolate. [bugrin]

MsNobodyAgain · 31/03/2013 12:45

Is it your anniversary today Raahh? If so happy anniversary!

OP posts:
Raahh · 31/03/2013 12:56

It is, thank you. Grin

I'm now watching 'Creature Comforts'.

Dh is trying to wind me up,by suggesting we watch Doctor Who (recorded from last night) now. We have to be at my mother's at 2. He is not funny.

MsNobodyAgain · 31/03/2013 13:01

I can't watch Dr Who. It scares me. I am 42 ffs!
