I've been lent the boxed set. I'm halfway through the second season and, you know what? I can't abide Meredith. It's got so bad that I think it may stop me enjoying the show. She's like some surgeon Carrie Bradshaw. Now, all my girlfriends love her so it has to be me right? It's the same with Hannah from Girls. I stopped watching because of her.

Why am I so intolerant?

Me too. It's my new guilty pleasure. I actually like the wife. Can't stand Alex. Meredith is as miserable as sin.

i gave up series 2

Stick with it - I just watched season 1-7 on lovefilm instant in the space of 3 months - immersed myself and gave up watching anything else on tv and just retired in the evening to bed with the laptop - even started to dream about it all the time!

Was motivated as it is disappearing from Lovefilm at the end of March.

I too find her a bit annoying, but as you get into it the other characters become more central.

It started off as my ironing trash and I got hooked! Best watched in big binges I reckon.

Don't give up. Drool over McSteamy/Dreamy and prepare to laugh and cry through the next few series!

She's just met the vet. Is she so annoying throughout the 9 seasons? I hated what she did to George. Mcdreamy is divine but, I so want to wash his hair. I can't believe the amount of shagging that goes on in oncall rooms. I must pay more attention next time I'm on nights

As time goes on the focus is less on "Mer" and more on the other characters and so much more interesting.

I love it and despite my determination, it is one of the few programmes that manage to make me cry every time! Keep going - it gets better!

We have trawled through 7 series of Grey's and love it- but I agree- Meredith is boring and annoying! Loads of other great characters. Love Bailey!

I love Grey's. never found Meredith particularly annoying though! Love Christina but yes she does get less whiney 'dark' as the series go on.
I think a lot of people ended up liking Addison they gave her her own spin off after all!
Like all tv program's some episodes are better than others but when Greys get it right boy do they get it right! Like upinthehills when I discovered it I just ran through the series watching whole discs at a time and there aren't may shows I can bear to do that with.

I love Greys, Have to say I find Meredith is a PITA in the early season too. But she does get better. Think the character i don't like the most is Christina

Bailey, Webber and Callie are my favourites and Derek is lovely on the eye

Derek hardly suits him does it? It's like findin out Bigs name was John. I'm loving heart guy. He's so hot. I'm praying he gets a new heart.

I hope Meredith doesn't end up with Derek.

I'm right up to date with what has aired in the US and I still have a love/hate relationship with her.

I agree with others some episodes are a bit rubbish (the musical one!) but when it's good it's really good!

I'm in a train and downloaded a couple of episodes. The start of season three. At £3 an episode I want be doing that again.

Last night she reminded me of Ally Macbeal. Always looks like her hair needs washing and, even Macdreamy seemed abit sleazy to me.

Bloody Izzy. That was a pathetic storyline. Although I loved heart guy I didn't shed one tear. Probably because of the shagging that was was going on in the next room it took the edge off.

I'm up-to-date (season 9) and I still hate Meredith.
Dry faced, lank haired and boring. Why do men fancy her? She could never get a McDreamy in a million years. I still wonder if she is related to the director/producer or summat. Otherwise doesn't make any sense...she's just so drab.

Keep watching you get used to her boring face and learn to tune it out

I missed a load in the middle but have seen the seasons 8&9. Derek doesn't do it for me so Meredith can have him.

I like that they are mostly normal looking. That not everyone is stick thin.
Arizona pisses me off. There is a good cycling of characters so I live in hope that she'll disappear one day.

Oh the musical episode was diabolical.

I need to be warned when that ones coming up

I have given up on season 9. Just could not face any more of it.
