He's a bit smug, and getting cross already.

40-50% of the food is thrown away.

I have sinned and have JK on, I sat down with my toast, coffee and nurofen to watch Wanted Down Under and it wasnt on, I am currently boycotting the BBC until doctors starts this afternoon

CMOTDibbler · 25/02/2013 09:35

He is smug, but god only knows that hospital food is grim. I spent a week in hospital, and as I'm gluten free for medical reasons, they only managed to give me ONE actual meal I could eat. And that was foul.

Sparklingbrook · 25/02/2013 09:36

Claimed I wasn't going to watch TV since WDU has finished but I started watching and now I am tutting at this. Grin

He's got a point about the waste but I hated him ranting at the cook about the custard.

ElectricSoftParade · 25/02/2013 09:36

So much food wasted!

Sparklingbrook · 25/02/2013 09:37

Hi CMOT.

He is easier on the eye than Jamie Oliver.

The Orthopaedic Hosp in Brum is grim never mind the food.

Sparklingbrook · 25/02/2013 09:50

I can't believe this. No costings?????

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 25/02/2013 09:54

Uh-oh. He's having a strop.

BootcampBetty · 25/02/2013 09:54

I cannot stand the man usually (I hate all the staring-into-the-distance whilst standing by a sportscar shots from his Mail on Sunday car column) BUT this is an interesting programme and I prefer him in his chef persona.

Hope they make genuine, long-lasting changes. Didn't old Lloyd Grosman try and shake things up many years ago?

Feel a bit sorry for the beleaguered Brummies in the kitchen!

Sparklingbrook · 25/02/2013 09:56

The Brummie is stropping now.

'See you in the dole queue'. Sad

Blimey next time he's getting really arsey.....

The head chef is not suited to management, no recipie, no menu, no costings, letting them do as they please.

The lady chef seems willing, the man chef seems like he has stuck his heels in. I can't believe after the last custard incident, he carried on wasting £11,000 per year. Shock

Sparklingbrook · 25/02/2013 10:03

Yes MrsJ it was just baffling that they didn't realise, and someone didn't do something.

OP posts:
fergoose · 25/02/2013 10:04

I agree with him especially about not being able to make them care - didn't like the custardgate bloke much tbh.

Sparklingbrook · 25/02/2013 10:05

Grin 'custardgate'. He has worked there 10 years but it didn't seem like it, and he certainly doesn't want to be told what to do. Unless the BBC asked him to have a strop for effect.

OP posts:
MrsJREwing · 25/02/2013 10:07

With a weak manager it's no wonder someone like custardgate bloke takes the piss with public funds. He chucked away two or three operations in custard, after it was pointed out to him.

Sparklingbrook · 25/02/2013 10:08

I don't think Custardgate man will get on v well with the Scarborough ladies.

Well my tv has obviously had enough of JK and has just died on me, or it could be the virgin box, who knows, I am staring at a blue screen!
