He's a bit smug, and getting cross already.

Shit sandwiches too!

Sparklingbrook · 28/02/2013 09:22

Yes they look like the sort that come out of the plastic all wangy. And you need a huge drink to get them down.

He's still recapping! Sheeeeesh. This is just so slow.

Greensleeves · 28/02/2013 09:29

why's everyone obsessed with soup?

Sparklingbrook · 28/02/2013 09:30

Zzzzzzz. Perhaps we should watch the last 5 minutes of tomorrow's episode to see what happened.

I was thinking that Green it's all about the soup isn't it? Confused

When DH was in hospital, every morning at 11.30 a green soup was delivered. He was in a week and never found out what flavour it was supposed to be. Even the staff didn't know. Sad

Do they still use that powdered soup stuff?

SomeBear · 28/02/2013 09:36

The trouble appears to be that each time they do a section about one of the 5 (?) hospitals there is a recap of what happened last time they were there.

FiL had a massive stroke a few years ago, so on a personal level I'm interested in that hospital - he took months to be able to chew properly and he still has to eat one handed. This is the only hospital that actually seems to have involved a dietician, isn't it?

Sparklingbrook · 28/02/2013 09:36

I think I saw Cup a Soup on the shelves in this programme Ood. DH's soup had no visible lumps-just lime green.

Ward 2 patients are taking the piss slightly.

I just assumed hospitals would all have some sort of ordering system.

Am going in next week and dh will be bringing me food as ours doesn't seem to do veggie food or even vegetables.

Oodsigma · 28/02/2013 09:53

Stephen Terry is doing a bigger job than JM, he's a whole country to sort out.

Sparklingbrook · 28/02/2013 09:54

Probably for the best Ood. There has been very little mention of veg options in this programme.

One hospital was doing veggie menu.

That woman had a very 'cant do' attitude re procurement didn't she.

gregssausageroll · 28/02/2013 16:54

I was in my local hospital last week and there is an ordering system. You would get a slip of paper to order from for 2 meals. Breakfast is a help yourself selection of bread and cereal. Only I got to order just the once so there was a failing there. I just had to wait and see what was available at the end of service.

Sparklingbrook · 01/03/2013 09:44

Those baguettes are enormous. So much bread can't be good.

I should be in the royal free now but got bumped yesterday so I avoided this programme in case it enraged me. But I'm glad I watched thus morning, I will be demanding the food made by Paul Merrick(?) and his Brian Connelly like mate. I will eat almost snything and the last time I was in there it wasn't bad, could be better but very repetitive. I suppose mist people don't stay long enough to get bored with it.

Sparklingbrook · 01/03/2013 10:00

Grin Davros, you might actually get nice food. Have they given you another date?

Oodsigma · 01/03/2013 10:05

I'm actually hungry after watching that admittedly I'm constantly hungry really fancy soup but we've nearly run out of dh nice home made stuff

Davros · 01/03/2013 10:14

Thanks, I am hoping for a phone call today with a new date, likely to be next week. Usually the food REALLY needs seasoning and then isn't so bad. One thing even I thought was vile last time was the soup!
