Sure this won't be popular but i was a bit disappointed - thought there were big holes in the storyline and a lot of the plot relied on lots of police fuck-ups. e.g.wWhy didn't everyone just bog off out of the building at the end?
Can't see any need for Sami to have stayed behind - they had already evacuated.
And Laure's acting still quite wooden for me. She pulls the same face for everything.
Gilou has some good one-liners though.

Maybe Sami ducked out in the nick of time...
Bad Thomas - I knew he was going to cop out and leave someone else holding the bag.

I was glued to the screen - really enjoyed it.

Rowlers - Sami was trying to be the hero and get the girl I think - they all (Herville, Sami, Laure) were victims of their own ambition and stubborn-ness imho; the counter-terrorism unit was just the same. It's all about who climbs the greasy pole.

The one plot hole I can see - wouldn't that amount of explosive have done a LOT more damage? Unless they only used some of it and Riffault has buggered off with the rest Wink

Cremola did you not think Josephine deserved her happy ending this series? Given we know more about her awful background, and then she finished the series by doing something for the good of others rather than just naked self interest - we were being asked to sympathise with her.
And, in contrast, we were helped to realise that Pierre is a bloody idiot and perfectly willing to act in his own greed/self-interest sometimes.
So we are more likely to accept (if not support Wink) their relationship being back on track at the end.

Well, I dunno, know what you mean about being the hero but faced with a bag packed with explosives, he'd have fucked off really. Just convenient for storyline, give a big emotional thing at the end.
And that Sophie girl should have set the thing off much sooner - she only waited to give the rest of the main characters time to get out so there can be another series.
Yes that amount of explosives would surely have blown the building apart, not just one room.
How did they let that crappy hippy-type / amateur terrorist Riffaut get away so often?
He was presented as a determined-to-cause-misery terrorist-with-no-morals and then what was he doing at the end? Going off to his alternative life as a bank clerk?!?!
Soz - was sort of hoping it would be a bit, erm, cleverererer -am I being too picky? Grin

Oh shame a film . Come on BBC 4 we need more eurocrime .
Even the not very good wallanders would do for a bit.
Surely there must be plenty of dark German / French stuff out there. Canal+ are prolific at churning it out!
I wish they had made more Aurelio Zen too.

Montalbano dd loves it. Poor old salvo. I have romantic notions about mimi sometimes too.Blush

Rowlers I think Sophie really was so barking that she thought she would be able to get out of the building and then set it off. When cornered, she really did not know what to do -she just hadn't thought through the consequences. She seemed to want to prove herself to Thomas, who of course pissed off quick-smart as soon as he knew she had been caught!
Re Thomas - his was the more strategic choice. Gang fallen apart, plot busted, better to lay low for a while and then strike when the guard has dropped again. I could understand why he wanted to back off for a while.

One thing that did occur to me re Sophie - I wonder if being a witness to her bf dying in ep 1 pushed her over the edge mentally (her mental state deteriorated at several points imho) and that is an echo of what happened to Tintin? And in the final moment, but she and he are broken by the bomb.

PUTAIN! Sami! Noooooo! Shock He is not d'accord!

I see your point rowlers , there were plenty of missed opportunities and I think Sami was trying to be a bit of a hero but I was still riveted ce soir.

It was lovely to see Josephine smile for once, teej . Prior to this series, I really disliked her but we've seen a different side to her now and I'm happy to let her have a little loan of Pierre, provided she returns him unsoiled. And what a convenient escape from Jorkal for Pierre; I was hoping he would need maitre Karlsson's help.

Poor Tintin; his wife's crowning and he's almost being blown to bits; that won't help his PTSD much. Lovely to see him and Gilou close and looking out for each other, though; sweet.

Yeah, I reckon Amina was coming onto Gilou but he brushed her off but he liked her earlier in the series Confused

Poor Laure, don't think Vincent will be too keen to nurse her through her heartbreak over Sami, though.

Good to see Roban back in office (with the lovely Marianne; hope he makes up for rejecting her puppy dog eyes at the end) but he's going to have Mason issues next series. He does love being troubled, doesn't he. He's probably very wealthy, if I were him, I'd take early retirement and get some sun on that pasty skin.

Think I read that series 5 is ready to shoot so hopefully there won't be as long a gap between 4 & 5 as 3&4. Lots on story lines to continue; Riffaut, Sarouhises, Bremont&Laure, Herville's promotion. I can't wait; love it. Tried watching a few series on BBC/ITV (Shetland, Broadchurch, Mayday) recently and they just seem so bloody slow and boring. Spiral's spoilt me! Merde.

Yes agree re: Thomas laying low.
Sophie seemed a wet lettuce through the whole thing to me - am sure she'd have been dumped from proceedings long ago.
