This family are a bit deluded over house prices IMO.

I think one of the criteria to get on the show is that you've never looked at an Aussie property website, or watched an episode of the programme. Otherwise folk would have a better idea of what they could realistically afford.

They voted Aus when the houses they like are £100k over budget!!!

I could only emigrate if I was stinking rich and could fly everyone back and forth every month. Losing a family support network is too much of a risk for boring old me.

Thats not boring at all, Meglet. Am a little at yr support network- i probably fit a certain expat stereotype of being someone w/o strong ties thats partly the reason for me running away living overseas. Quite a few in same boat .

I feel a bit uncomfortable that their son appears to be acquiring all these skills only because they want to emigrate. Even if it is a positive thing for him, how come they didn't think about all this before? He was 18 when they made the visit, why weren't they already looking into these opportunities for him?
