I do like Roland Rivron, from when he used to be in 'Raw Sex' on french and saundersBlush

I do think it is wrong- will they feel obliged not to ditch Aiden for the 4th timeGrin

Bilbobagginstummy · 15/02/2013 19:42

Aiden does have the better menu though...

Report
Raahh · 15/02/2013 19:44

He does- and has been more consistent. But i feel Pru is rooting for mary Ellen.

Oodsigma · 15/02/2013 19:45

It's fairly close but Aiden tips it so if he goes through its ok with me

Report
Raahh · 15/02/2013 19:45

It's not funny, though...Grin

Oodsigma · 15/02/2013 19:53

Only funny ones so far were the chicken crossing the road and the bean bath.

Raahh · 15/02/2013 19:54

I think it might end up being close- the judges seem quite divided. And Aiden's burger was not great yesterday.

Report
Raahh · 15/02/2013 19:55

I like the presentation of this- but a pineapple burger?

Report
Oodsigma · 15/02/2013 19:55

It looks better today, want pineapple now.

Report
Oodsigma · 15/02/2013 19:56

And trifle.

I really would like some Dover sole...the swordfish I had yesterday has spoiled meGrin

Well done, Aiden. He doesn't have to bother next year nowGrin

Mary Ellens goat dish went down better than I thought it would.

I do wonder who pays for the props. The fancy boxes, plates and such things. Do the chefs pay, the BBC, or does it come out of comic relief money?

It's the north-east tonight with judge Jason Atherton. The chefs are Colin McCurran, Charlie Lakin and Stephanie Moon - I think Stephanie is the one that went a bit crazy with the brief last year with snorkels and stuff.

Report
Raahh · 18/02/2013 16:58

Oh yes- Poor Stephanie. iirc, Nigel Haworth was the judge, and he was really nice to her about her monumental disasterGrin

I wonder who pays for the props too- especially for 80+ people. maybe theydo a 'Challenge Anneka' stylee looting job?

Report
Bilbobagginstummy · 18/02/2013 18:16

Maybe they have a budget for food and props together?

Report
Raahh · 18/02/2013 19:38

hasn't someone already done the chicken joke?

Report
Oodsigma · 18/02/2013 19:41

Yes the first week I think. He had a road on slate plate

Report
Raahh · 18/02/2013 19:45

I'm already worried for Steph.

Report
catwithflowers · 18/02/2013 19:53

Now that is just stupid. What is funny about dog poo on a plate?

Report
catwithflowers · 18/02/2013 19:55

Raahh, I don't think they know what the others have done.

I had to pause and am a bit behind...
Dog poo?!

cat - no, probably not.

the poo is just wrong.

Is anyone else not enjoying the brief this year? I know every year is rather contrived but this one just seems embarrassing! I am especially disliking the token funny person on a Friday with the judges. The woman the week before last was truly awful and cringe worthy and last week's guy not much better!
