Anyone watching? Love Stephen K Amos, he is very funny.

Hmm not as funny as last night so far...

vigglewiggle · 22/01/2013 21:07

We thought it was hilarious in this house. DH nearly fell of his seat at one point.

I now NEED bakewell tart!

emess · 22/01/2013 22:42

I am now a fan of Warwick Davies! I wasn't fussed about him on TV before. He's so much better when he's not having to downplay his talents so as not to outshine a certain Mr Gervais. Even Duncan Bannatyne surprised me; I normally find him a bit arrogant but he was a good sport.

Bakingnovice · 22/01/2013 23:28

The first one was hilarious! Them custard slices! Joe brand was v funny with not slicing hers.

MunchkinsMumof2 · 23/01/2013 08:51

Another brilliant episode, loved Warwick Davies and Duncan's tiniest gateau in the world!

I'm just watching the second episode as I recorded it last night. If that bunch of amateurs can make a Bakewell tart, I reckon I could have a go Grin

Haven't got to the showstoppers yet but my money's on Warwick so far. I've only seen him in films not on the tv and he's pretty good.

LIZS · 23/01/2013 13:40

love the squirrel - he's the new Sue !

WingDefence · 23/01/2013 13:45

Oh and I noticed the K-Mixes too.

Ooh Duncan's egg whites look a bit rough second time round...

MunchkinsMumof2 · 23/01/2013 20:02

Looking forward to tonight's-wish it was on longer than 4 days.

I made custard slices yesterday after watching this on Monday. They were surprisingly easy. I guess using shop bought puff pastry probably counts as cheating though ? Grin

awaynboilyurheid · 23/01/2013 20:27

Is it just me that gets slightly annoyed by Julia bradbury she always seems so pleased with herself

Stoneinwelly · 23/01/2013 20:40

DP and I agreed Julia Bradbury seems very lively . DP then said she was probably wild "in her pomp". I'd never heard this expression before but I think she is still in her pomp!

MunchkinsMumof2 · 23/01/2013 21:21

Loved Ellie, such a sweet girl. Thought they all did well tonight. Looking forward to Claudia Winkleman tomorrow, she always makes me laugh.

I found Julia irritating too. Really liked Ellie but always have (thought she should have come in the top 3 in Sporting Personalitis too).

WingDefence · 24/01/2013 14:04

I thought Julia was okay. Really not sure about Kirsty getting joint SB though - should have been Ellie on her own.

Wasn't as funny as last night's - I laughed out loud a few times - but I'm looking forward to tonight's :)

MunchkinsMumof2 · 24/01/2013 14:35

It's such lovely television and makes me want to be more adventurous with my baking!

beanandspud · 24/01/2013 20:06

Anyone watching tonight's episode? I have enjoyed my 8pm date with Paul Hollywood this week Wink

ILoveOnionRings · 24/01/2013 20:10

I am

ILoveOnionRings · 24/01/2013 20:28

Have I missed something but why is Martha whispering?

Salteena · 24/01/2013 20:31

Lost her voice, onionRings.

Had to laugh at Mel's box-ticking joke

beanandspud · 24/01/2013 20:32

I used to love lemon meringue pie... some of these are truly dreadful!

ILoveOnionRings · 24/01/2013 20:34

When they first said lemon meringue, I said to DH 'I could make one of those' but now I am not to sure

Arithmeticulous · 24/01/2013 20:37

That has indeed 'been on a journey' Grin

Arithmeticulous · 24/01/2013 20:37

And doesn't Mary like Ed Shock

VivaLeBeaver · 24/01/2013 20:38

I'm finding Claudia quite irritating.
