buffy - "making all the drama" FFS - to some it bloody hurts. Stupid judginess.

slatternlymother · 09/01/2013 21:31

Oh right Buffy I see.

Losing a baby, no matter how early is awful Sad

BuffyFairyTopsTheTree · 09/01/2013 21:31

Did I use the wrong emoticon or something? Definitely not making judgey, bitchy comments about ectopic pregnancies. I'd be mortified if someone thought I was.

I had my mum as my birth partner. She was pretty good. Except for the two times she nipped home to give my dad his dinner

I'm watching and I'm going against the grain for having your mum as your birth partner.

When I had DD my DM drove us to hospital and was just meant to drop us off but my DP, despite trying to help was bloody useless, so I asked her to stay!

DM knew just what to do, and sat for hours in the room with us, her on her hands and knees rubbing my back and me hanging off DP's neck, resisting the urge to throttle him.

She was brilliant when DD was born though too, she imediatley withdrew to the otherside of the room and left just me and DP with the baby - she isn't a pushy woman.

I wouldn't want him not to be there, but as far as the better birth partner goes, my Mum was brilliant. I really want them both again if there is another DC.

Buffy - to me labour early on was absolute, brutal agony. The final bit, and the pushing. All the bits I was allowed to make a fuss over, I was fine, it didn't hurt and I was quite quiet. Different people are different.

Me too Tough, I couldn't work out (still can't) how it sits there but no judging over here! Smile

BuffyFairyTopsTheTree · 09/01/2013 21:33

Widow - yep, fair enough, that was a bad turn of phrase.

pegster · 09/01/2013 21:33

Sam's mum is lovely, so excited & jolly about the whole thing

I don't think these women 'put it on' more because they're younger. If it hurts, it hurts. That's it.

Often, younger women's bodies have stronger muscles because they're younger, so the contractions are stronger. Not all the time, but that's what the midwife told me Smile

NoelHeadbands · 09/01/2013 21:34

I love seeing the mums flapping and fussing about Grin

I can't imagine what I'll be like if/when my DD goes into labour. A nervous wreck probably

PrincessMononoke · 09/01/2013 21:34

Oh dear the sickness, Poor thing.

pigleychez · 09/01/2013 21:34

My contractions at 3cm were double peaking.. MW couldn't understand why things weren't progressing. DD was back to back and stuck. :(
I was in agony!

WaynettaSlobsLover · 09/01/2013 21:35

I love that midwife soooo much, the dark haired one with the lovely accent.

slatternlymother · 09/01/2013 21:35

buffy the Hmm emoticon shows doubt as in 'hmm, what a load of rubbish' or expressing disbelief. It's best to use the sad emotion like this Sad to show you are feeling compassion, hurt or sadness. Smile

slatternlymother · 09/01/2013 21:36

Oh she's been through so much Sad Her and her poor mum.

WaynettaSlobsLover · 09/01/2013 21:37

Which poor souls of you vomited in labour ? I can't think of anything worse except vaginal exams. My deepest sympathy cos it just looks so awful :(

AmandaPayne · 09/01/2013 21:37

Aw, what a lovely mum.

NoelHeadbands · 09/01/2013 21:37

I'm getting quite emotional at this story.

There hasn't even been a birth yet!

PrincessMononoke · 09/01/2013 21:37

It's lovely to see them so close now though.
