it really upsets me to see these beautiful animals with no food because the polar ice is melting faster and for longer....

if i were the film crew i would be lugging huge quantities of meat about with me....
i dont know how they manage not to interfere.

Loving this programme. But its making me feel sad, poor polar bears.

im am worrying for lyra and her boy.....no ice in sight, no land and the cubs cannot swim for long.....

and now her collar isnt picking up a signal.....

the poor things. food is so scarce.

oh fuck why do i watch these bloody things.....

I don't know if I can watch tomorrow's episode. It doesn't look like easy viewing.

I'm in love with this program!! I've never been so involved in a wildlife thing, they are just beautiful. Makes me want to go and live on a boat :)
I'd totally be taking a couple of seals from the fat bears to Lyra too!
Thursday is the next episode.

On the Planet Earth series there was a 'making of' segment where they discussed the only time a crew had intervened - trapped penguin iirc. Must be hard to resist but they're supposed to observe objectively to educate.

I don't know if I'll watch tomorrow's. I love wildlife shows but am prone to blubbing when things don't end happily.

i might need to turn tv over....if this isnt going to end well im going to blub. polar bears are doomed arent they - long term i dont think they will survive the lack of polar ice.

I'd give them some fish if I was the crew. Meat, whatever. She needs food. Wish I hadn't watched this. Poor Micky and Lyra.

It's so fucking depressing and upsetting, the whole ice melting / polar bear scenario.

I want to watch tomorrow but I need to know if they die. I don't want to watch if they do . I need a spoiler to let me know.

well they have a life line if they can find those whales....

Did you know that polar bears are moving to north Canada and mating with grizzlies? They are called Pizzly bears or Grolar bears.......not a joke, true!!!!

i would have had to drag one of those whales to the beach.....

I think they're over doing the drama a bit saying Lyra being ready to pounce. She clearly didn't have any strength in her at all. It just said it's illegal to feed them. Sad.

I have had to leave the tv to tend to a sick small person - please let me know what happens. My poor hormonal heart was breaking when she was refusing to feed Mickey.

yeah i saw that about it being illegal too tabliope - i understand the reasoning but i wonder if they couldnt have just pushed those whale carcasses to shore a bit.....that wouldnt be feeding them would it?!
