I enjoyed it very much.

pretty powerful I thought. Will never listen to those songs in the same way again.

mesenfantsmaman · 15/04/2006 15:44

I missed it am cheesed off, is it to be repeated?

lucy5 · 15/04/2006 15:45

I enjoyed it and found it very powerful but can't quite shift the feeling that there was more to it. A piece for our times I suppose.

I don't know if it will be repeated, it was on 3 and 2 yesterday. The stone Roses {i think} I am the resurrection got me.

NomDePlume · 15/04/2006 16:05

I didn't see it, didn't fancy it at all. Stone Roses are ace though.

poi · 15/04/2006 16:06

Thanks for referring me here Lucy5. I enjoyed it very much, "I am the resurrection" got me too, very good stuff

lucy5 · 15/04/2006 16:08

It was incredibly moving. That huge cross going through Manchester was incredibley symbolic in many ways.

sfxmum · 15/04/2006 16:09

quite enjoyed it, thought it was going to be like the opera thing they did a while back at the train station.
i enjoyed that also but this was different maybe the immediacy of the songs did it

NomDePlume · 15/04/2006 16:11

Am a staunch Athiest, so not really my bag Wink

lucy5 · 15/04/2006 16:11

I think because I was hugely into the Manchseter scene as a student it made it more poignant.

It sounds weird but I kept thinking about it as a historical resource. Why was something like this produced at this particular point in time?

OP posts:
cod · 15/04/2006 16:12

i meant ot but missed it

hmm manch music always lsightly annoying here

lucy5 · 15/04/2006 16:12

Nomdeplume, I'm not really into religon either to be honest. Well a lapsed catholic.

OP posts:
sfxmum · 15/04/2006 16:15

catholicism the easiest route to atheism i findGrincertainly worked for me

lucy5 · 15/04/2006 16:17

hehehehehe Grin

OP posts:
Whizzz · 15/04/2006 16:24

I saw it & have to admit I thought it was brilliant & very well done. I am not really into religion but thought it was pretty powerful. More powerful perhaps if you knew the bits of Manchester & the 'everyday-ness' of it (if you see what I mean!) Grin

Cristina7 · 15/04/2006 16:28

I saw only a bit because I didn't like it at all. Made me feel uneasy, a "here-we-go-the-American-way" feeling.

NomDePlume · 15/04/2006 16:29

I'm an expat Manc, that was the only thing that would have made me want to watch it.

mum2sam · 15/04/2006 18:17

I thought it was really good. If only they could do services like that in churches for younger people it would make it alot more interesting. It on teleport if anyones got cable.

I was discriminated against and couldn't watch it, despite paying the licence fee, because I don't have BBC3. Angry

I really wanted to see it.

mum2sam · 15/04/2006 19:12

Its pretty rubbish that they havent shown it on normal tv. They havent put anything on to mark the ocassion that its easter. And any religious programme they have put on they havent really advertised. Theyve not even put any thing good films on for the kidds to watch. And as for cbeebs well dont even get me started.....

lilibet · 15/04/2006 19:21

It was on BBC2 late last night

I thought it was incredible, one of the best things I'd seen on tv in ages

Love will tear us apart got me!

souvenir · 15/04/2006 19:22

I only overheard a bit of it over dp's shoulder and I thought it was freaky and bad taste and not at all what Easter or anything 'spiritual' should be about.

What the hell were those riot police DOING?

mum2sam · 15/04/2006 19:36

I thought it was good and is exactly what easter is about but obviously recreated in a more modern way. Im a christian and didnt find it in bad taste did any one else?
