And what is Suranne Jones going to do when Maureen Lipman wants her face back?

I understood it as... Cribbens wasn't satisfied because Maurice died, being his one more child. That wasn't why the orphans could all leave at the end.

Nancy was able to 'claim' them instead because Maurice went to her instead of killing Lauren. She said they were hers now.

Morris, I'm not sure what you mean but you've got me going "HUUUUUNGRY!" Grin

I still prefer MrsMushroom's ending. I'm going to imagine that happened.
I agree with those who say the first episode was fab and so promising, but the final one a big let down ...and rather confusing.
MrsM Here is some info about Lightfields It is a supernatural drama in the same vein as Marchlands, which was also an ITV production. I always thought the BBC did better quality dramas than ITV, but I'm not sure having seen Crickley and Marchlands!

Oh when I saw the names of the actors who would be in the final episode printed in the Radio Times and I saw that there was going to en elderly Magda and cam would be in it but not Nancy, I assumed that it would be MrsM's ending but that Magda would have Cam rather than Nancy.

Those who saw the trailer last week for the final episode and thought it gave too much away, what was given away in it?

In the first episode - I thought I saw a man grabbing Cam in the playground and running off with him or am I totally hallucinating Confused

Didn't the mum dream in the playground that she saw Cribben grabbing a child at the time Cam went missing?

I agree hatty, that's what I saw too! I thought Cam had been taken

So many questions. We need the writers of the series to come and answer them.

It was cribben grabbing stefan when cam was in the playground.

The final episode raised more questions than it answers. Disappointing really.

The child being grabbed seemed to be wearing an old-fashioned boys coat so wasn't Cam. Just a flashback,I think.

Toffee - the trailer had Maurice grabbing the oldest girl saying "he only needs one more", Cribben putting his face to Eve when she was asleep saying "she's mine now", the two girls' names in the book... Ie quite a lot! Certainly enough to work out the old man was Maurice and was going to try to kill one of the daughters

V disappointed. Really can't be doing with all that holding on with one arm business as someone hangs over a steep drop. Totally unrealistic (I know....) Tried to hold on to approx 120lbs of DD to stop her falling off the sofa, as an experiment, and couldn't even manage that let alone with someone trying to tear my face off Hmm

it is a bit far fetched that Gordon/Maurice tumbled down the well without dislodging Lauren.
Yes, I was shouting at the telly over this.

Tbh it all got a bit ridiculous didn't it? The only time I came near to welling up was when the lady was waiting for Stefan with a little kitten.

Nice series, shame about the ending.

Crock of shite. 'He's safe now, he has peace.' A bullshit reaction to your young child's death. You're dead inside. You want them back, you don't shrug, 'Yeah, it's okay, he wasn't hurt in his death, he has peace, he's safe. I'm good with it, let's just lay some flowers.' My fucking arse! I've seen a grown man weeping away at his son's grave 11 years on. The young man was 20 and left behind a young son. I know another man whose son died at 18. That was 15 years ago. He goes and visits his son as he can know and his only thought is, 'Why the fuck are you here?'

It was revealed in the second episode that the old man was Maurice though - however that aside the trailer did give a good bit away.

I wasn't as disappointed as many of you seem to be (thankfully, hate feeling let down when something seems like it was going to be good). Only things that bothered me was the voice Eve thought was Cam's just didn't tie in with the series, and the part with the graves, Stephan being there aside (with his old name) why would they bury their son in a place that was their tempory home and hot exactly prove to be that nice a spots for them?

Did they bury Cam near Crickley? I assumed it was a London graveyard.
