This is a thread for any fans of the afternoon soap called 'Doctors'

It's coming up to the festive season:

  • Will Mrs T be permanently stationed under the mistletoe while Dr Cah-tah sweeps by, un-seduced by her fanciest wig and chrrrrrrrrrrrristmas cake?
  • Will Zara and Daniel be reunited and have a Christmas kiss?
  • Will Barry tie mistletoe to his security hat and go in search of true love?
  • Has Kevin been getting my fan mail and will abandon Doctors to go forth with me and have a perfect life?

Please join in if you want to. Acronyms to follow but you don't have to use them, we are just glad desperate you are here Grin

Sparkling I'm ok now ta. I'm was being a drama queen as usual Blush

Harlot not sure if you mean why is she called 6tl? If so, there is a list of acronyms near the beginning of this thread that will help.

Relationship with Howard - a mystery but something has definitely happened between them or they knew each other before. I had no idea she even had a husband until today!

Ah, the baffling, wonderful WTF world of Doctors.

"I'm was" ??? I was. One glass of vino and my typing goes to pot.

Watching yesterday's now. 5 minutes in and I have no idea what is happening. This of course has nothing to do with the wine glass full of sherry I'm currently consuming.

Bit concerned actually, as my Christmas sherry bottle seems to have a leak. There's only a quarter left and it is only the 5th December. I think I had better complain to Sainsbury's. And Harvey's. It is a disgrace.

BiscuitNibbler · 05/12/2012 20:49

Kevin's mum is lovely (so far).

BiscuitNibbler · 05/12/2012 21:20

I wonder if DD will tell people how her terrible mother wouldn't let her decorate the Christmas tree and kept it locked in the conservatory? Blush

BiscuitNibbler · 06/12/2012 10:18

Oh my goodness, I need a sit down and a stiff drink - shame it is too early.

I have just been to my surgery and it was like walking into a parallel universe! It was just like being at the Mill (apart from having patients)! Shock

I walked in and the electronic check-in system was covered up and at the usually deserted reception desk were two (TWO!) smiling, friendly, welcoming, helpful receptionists!

I was VERY promptly called through, and was met with a smiley-faced new phlebotomist. Gone was the usual miserable harridan. Brilliant!

I was idly wondering if they were going to start home visits when I discovered the reason for treating the patients like human beings - they are conducting a patient survey! I expect normal dour service will be resumed next week. Sad

I did make a point of writing on the form that today's service with a smile was unusual! I think they were hoping people would be so stunned by seeing real-life receptionists they would forget what it is usually like.

MsNobodyAgain · 06/12/2012 12:19

Grin Biscuit.

That reminded me of the times I used to work in an office and the Auditors would visit once a year. Everything was suddenly improved and done by the book (excuse the pun). Or the 'big boss' would visit and we would be banned from making toast in case we made the office smell.

I hate my new doctors. I'm not going back to the first woman I saw, but there are 5 others to choose from so I'll just see if they all cheese me off before I consider moving again Grin. Plus the automatic check in screen thingy never works for my boys. Enter your childs sex, DOB and every single time "you cannot be uniquely identified. Please go to Reception where there will be nobody to assist you ". Errrrrrrrr that will be because they are twins and therefore born on the same day. It's not exactly unusual is it?

Am I too early for todays episode? I have been lurking for a while - love all your funny comments, but have been so far behind with my watching I haven't liked to speak. But I've been in bed with flu for the last 3 days and have now caught up on my viewing so am looking to my first 'live chat' Grin
BTW have watched for years (back to Mac and Kate days due to being on amternity leave about the smae time Kate had her baby so truely am addicted Blush

MsNobodyAgain · 06/12/2012 12:39

Welcome! Xmas Smile

A dedicated follower, yay! Mac and Kate were before my time. It's a bit early yet - as you well know - but there's generally someone around lurking most days. Not me. I've got loads of other stuff to do.

You ain't seen me, right? Xmas Grin

(will obviously be around at 1.45 as I plan on doing nothing today)

BiscuitNibbler · 06/12/2012 12:43

Welcome, Seeline! Great to have another SDTP!

I very rarely get to watch live, but I don't mind talking to myself when I eventually get around to watching. DD has ballet today so will miss it and have to catch up later.

Seeline · 06/12/2012 12:47

Ooh what a warm welcome Smile
Should I be worried - has Val come to haunt me Grin

MsNobodyAgain · 06/12/2012 12:51

There's quite a few 'Vals' on here, but we are nice and can only stalk you online via this thread. You're safe.

Honest. Smile

Hi Seeline. Grin

Watching live today. DS2 has an upset stomach now so he will be watching with me. Hmm

we3kingsoforientRaahh · 06/12/2012 13:03

I've just come back from the doctors. I didn't plan to go- I rang for a repeat prescription, without the rigmarole of a review appointment. They made me go in straight away- where I had to see the doctor who is the reason I haven't been for 3 months. She makes me feel like I am being interrogated for a treasonable act. So no,I didn't have thoughts of self harm before I started talking to you, lady, but maybe now I will just go and sit in a cupboad and crySad

I'm moving to Letherbridge. Even Jizz would be better than her.

Xmas Grin

all set for a better episode today- yesterday was dull, but lots of Kevin looking angstyGrin

Sparklingbrook · 06/12/2012 13:09

'Straight away' you say Raahh? Preferential treatment? Shock

I had to go to the chemist this morning. I needed 1% hydrocortisone cream, which I had a prescription for. I asked if it was cheaper to buy it and they said yes. Then they asked where I was applying it and when I said 'my face' they said it had to be on Prescription then. Confused

MsNobodyAgain · 06/12/2012 13:13

Did somebody say 'Kevin'? Ooooooohhhhhhhhh.

Basically, we all need to move to Letherbridge, get seen by a nice sympathetic Doctor immediately, get instant follow up and home visits and GPs that will do a bit of detective work as well.

Not a lot to ask is it?

OodKingWenceslas · 06/12/2012 13:15

LOl at the machine that can't understand twins !

Been to drs this am, called straight away and had smiley receptionists but no home visits :(

Am on for a live episode today.

we3kingsoforientRaahh · 06/12/2012 13:16

It's because she hates me SparklingXmas Grin.I keep avoiding her calls, and didn't want to see her. She happened to be behind the receptionist when i rangHmm.

She is new to the practice. She thinks I should be cured of 20 -odd years of depression, after one appointment with her. Ok, then...

I've had the hydrocortisone converstion before. I just went to a different chemist 2 doors down, and when asked where I was using it, liedBlush Pharmacists who think they know better than medical professionals are one of my bugbears.

(I'm on a proper mood today!)Grin

we3kingsoforientRaahh · 06/12/2012 13:18

(hope no-one on thread is a pharmacistBlush)

Sparklingbrook · 06/12/2012 13:21

She sounds great Raahh. Sad

I am baffled by the cream thing. I will say 'my arse' next time. Confused

BiscuitNibbler · 06/12/2012 13:26

Gosh, it seems most of us at were at real surgeries today! We do take being SDTPs seriously, don't we? Xmas Wink

we3kingsoforientRaahh · 06/12/2012 13:31

Sparkling- arseGrin

MsNobodyAgain · 06/12/2012 13:46
