This is a thread for any fans of the afternoon soap called 'Doctors'

It's coming up to the festive season:

  • Will Mrs T be permanently stationed under the mistletoe while Dr Cah-tah sweeps by, un-seduced by her fanciest wig and chrrrrrrrrrrrristmas cake?
  • Will Zara and Daniel be reunited and have a Christmas kiss?
  • Will Barry tie mistletoe to his security hat and go in search of true love?
  • Has Kevin been getting my fan mail and will abandon Doctors to go forth with me and have a perfect life?

Please join in if you want to. Acronyms to follow but you don't have to use them, we are just glad desperate you are here Grin

Well I am off to the Doctors for real at 3pm. I bet it will be empty just like on the telly. Grin

we3kingsoforientRaahh · 05/12/2012 14:26

I put the phone down on my Dr's receptionistBlush. I need a repeat prescription- they won't give one without a meds review (I've been on them 16 years, ffs). But I can't get an appointment for this. And after an hour on the phone this morning, was told to ring earlierShock. What, earlier than when the lines open?? So I put the phone down and will get dh to ring later. Ranty rant.

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes · 05/12/2012 14:41

Val hasn't got a job in your Drs has she Raahh?

Terrywoganstrousers · 05/12/2012 15:29

Rect-al just referred to 'GOBBY HOLLINS' ShockShockShock
Do you think the writers read our threads? Is this a secret message to Mnetters?

we3kingsoforientRaahh · 05/12/2012 15:58

Terry- in one episode, Zara's phone rang, and Karen came up on her phone as 'Gobby' Grin

HarlotOTara · 05/12/2012 16:04

I just heard that too and came on here to tell - bit of a lurker but a Doctors' addict too. Too much of a coincidence to think it isn't a message to MN

toldmywrath · 05/12/2012 16:09

Quick - another lurker has joined the thread which can never be left. Big welcome to Harlot

I intended to just lurk Harlot - but I accidentally posted one day and seem to have been sucked in permanently!

Lilo - I started watching after a long absence just as Cherry was leaving but am still probably too confused to explain properly what's going on.

HarlotOTara · 05/12/2012 16:37

Thanks Grin actually I quite like rect-al.

we3kingsoforientRaahh · 05/12/2012 16:38

It's like the Hotel California, this thread...

DameMargotFountain · 05/12/2012 16:46

t'is true, i can't keep away either Grin

have lined up yesterdays and todays episodes to watch when DD is in bed Grin

BiscuitNibbler · 05/12/2012 17:13

Margot - I'll be joining you this evening. DH is going out too, so I am going to get in my PJs when DD goes to bed, pour myself a glass of sherry (my December drink of choice - I'm not 90, honestly) and watch both episodes.

Harlot - Welcome! Sit down, relax and get used to us. MsN has bolted the door, you're not going anywhere.

DameMargotFountain · 05/12/2012 17:18

ooooh sherry and Doctors - how very.....envious i am Grin

MsNobodyAgain · 05/12/2012 18:12

Just poured a Sauvingnon Blanc (in my defence, it's past 6 and it was on offer in Tesco). Got half an hour free and I'm making the most of it.

MsNobodyAgain · 05/12/2012 18:17

2 minutes in and I want to slap 6tl already.

OP posts:
MsNobodyAgain · 05/12/2012 18:32

Ugh, Jimmi is going bonkers in the woods and Rect-Al is practically leering at Gobby. Putting me right off my wine lies

OP posts:
MsNobodyAgain · 05/12/2012 18:45

Well that was a bit sad and BAH. Oh well, til tomorrow... (thanks for good wishes earlier by the way. Smile )

Hi MsN. Todays was crapola.

Went to the Doctors. Appointment at 3 and got in at 3.15. I wasn't ushered through straight away Angry. GP was lovely though. Smile

MsNobodyAgain · 05/12/2012 19:08

Sparkling, a wait of 15 minutes would never happen at the Mill Shock. They should put TBFE in charge of my doctors. 50 minutes I waited last time - 50, FIFTY!

And no mention of a bloody home visit.

Scandalous.

(Hope you are ok by the way) Smile

MsNobodyAgain · 05/12/2012 19:10

I keep forgetting the festive smileys. But are they for use only when you are talking about Christmas? There must be MN etiquette on this issue surely Xmas Wink

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 05/12/2012 19:11

Oh, I am fine thanks. I Although I have probably caught something from the waiting room knowing my luck. Grin

Are you ok?

Sparklingbrook · 05/12/2012 19:12

Me too Xmas Grin Can you believe in 3 week's time it will be Boxing Day? Shock

BiscuitNibbler · 05/12/2012 19:26

If TBFE was the practice manager at my surgery I would be arrested for stalking sign up for the patient participation group they are always hounding people to join.

HarlotOTara · 05/12/2012 19:28

Ok why is he 6tl and what was her relationship with Howard - and where'sthe husband?Although I thought that Howard was.Watched DRs when my kids were little stopped for a while and started when the receptionist went a bit mad and then she went off to America. The only episodes I have missed were the ones when 6tl joined the Mill.
She and her son look very alike
