I think that must be it - explains why the charm was lacking from the Charleston. Plus the fact any seeming 'niceness' she displays comes across as fake and down to her 'consummate pro' status.

I've often notice Bruce try and put the brakes on if there's too much phwoarness emanating from the gay contingent - a lot of 'now now, that's enough - family show' type comments.
It's okay for him to ogle the young, buxom female contestants, obv.

I am going to have to pay more attention to bruce I can honestly say I havn't noticed all his words merge into 1 blah, DVO smile is vey fixed and her applauding other contestants is too enthusiastic , I saw her real smile last night and it is different from the insane fixed grin,

I SPOSE he doesnt want to put off other homophobes. and male dancers arent necessarily gay.

i dont think dvo is going to be popular. she has an unfair advantage. and the public dont like that.

I'm not sure that Bruce is even close to being a Homophobe! He's past it and a crap presenter but Homophobe? No. Reckon his attitude towards Richard is more to do with 'Dicky' being an actual dick!!

If anyone could PM me the result I'd love to know it. I would like to be prepared incase it's like last week. My DD howled and cried for half an hour because Fern and Kimberley were in bottom 2. We had to rewind it once she'd composed herself to see who actually went!

no of course not but he must have worked with many gay entertainers in his 100 years of being in the biz

It really doesn't seem fair to put DVO in it; didn't someone upthread say she deffo dances properly in Chicago.

DVO won't win the voters wont let her win they like to be entertained as well as them being good dancers although I wanted chelsee to win over Harry Mcfly last year he was the better dancer but i liked her more,

They did; and I deffo remember her saying in interviews that she was losing loads of weight and struggling to keep her 'curves' from the hours of dance rehearsals she was having to do.

Have to say loved dvo and Jame's charlston but its all down to james great choreography, almost like watching two professionals!but I still really liked it, Also like Danny and Vincent, and Flavia and louis I liked that they changed it a bit and made it into a modern dance at the end but judges didnt agree how dare they criticise Flavia, still want to tell Nicky to actually look at karen all v odd , and even though I love the way Lisa really goes for it in the dances I felt after the dance she put on the whole I'm crying with suprise at the audience reaction , it just seemed fake but thats probably v cynical of me.

Interesting Shotgun IMO there should be a level playing field in SCD. or would that be boring?

Bruce was off-balance from the very beginning of his post-dance interview with Richard. He started off by being very flustered about the "hilarious" ending where Richard dumps Erin in favour of the muscle Marys because he is LOLGAY, and was muttering about not knowing what to make of it. Richard then went off piste, encouraged by Darcy's unfortunate comment and was definitely making comments that were not suitable for the teatime audience, and Bruce did need to shut him up but did so in an inelegant way.

I do think Bruce and Len have a homophobic streak though. Len has got a grip over the years (and he's very close to Bruno) so he's not as bad as he used to be, but Bruce is getting worse,

Don't give James Jordan all the credit for the charleston. I was watching ITT and he said himself all professional dancers get in help for the choreography of the charleston.
