Was thinking about the shooting of the soldiers & those men in the bar ages ago. I do get why they don't trust strangers, etc. But. When do you decide you will welcome someone into your group? if ever?

I mean Andrea had to trust Michonne (is that her name?) so now they are a little group. Rick et al don't want to welcome anyone new it seems & the Gov guy doesn't unless they're women? maybe.

You'd think that humans would help each other out a bit more, and want more people for more security or something.

nown iifif I saw other real people I'd fling myself onto them crying in relief. Surely safety in numbers etc plus a better chance of 'normality' (as we see in governors town). That said m (can't spell her name) saved Andreas life didn't she. so I suppose they both feel they can trust each other.

I think when Rick shot the men in the bar he "knew" they were bad 'uns. I thought that scene was quite menacing and I wouldn't have trusted them as far as I could throw them either.

As for the Guv, I get the feeling he might just be a few sandwiches short of a picnic! Well armed soldiers are exactly the ones you want joining your gang.

The one that got me thinking the most was the young guy they rescued from the town when he got his leg caught on the railings and they took him back to the farm. I wondered why they never considered letting him stay. It was always a discussion over do we kill him or let him go. Up until the point when Shane was leading him away in the woods, he never came across (to me) as any kind of threat to the group. I suppose living as they do they have just grown really suspicious of anyone new they come into contact with

Yeah definitely that young lad, why not add him in, young healthy strong (well apart from his sore leg but assuming that heals).

And soldiers, well i guess if you were only women (& they were all men which they were) then you might worry a bit, but adding a bunch of soldiers to your group, no brainer i would have thought

I've already banged on about this on the spoilery thread, but there were two flashbacks in series two showing the military killing civilians, including one of them bombing Atlanta. The implication was that they went a bit crazy when the ZA hit and started killing zombies and non-zombies alike, so I can see why civilian survivors wouldn't trust them.

I can't watch it until Sunday !! I am very very excited after lurking on this thread
