I would love to see RB on SCD. Who should he partner?

Ola Jordan their egos would explode Grin

TheAngelshavetheOod · 14/10/2012 20:42

Ooh and the reaction from James could be interesting too Grin

Mrsjay · 14/10/2012 20:43

James would go all Puffy chested and start wandering about like a cock

Mrsjay · 14/10/2012 20:43

Ach I meant cockrel Grin

digerd · 14/10/2012 20:46

digerd · 14/10/2012 20:49

FrankelSaysRelax · 14/10/2012 20:49

I was chatting to my teacher about Strictly at my lesson this morning. She said she wishes that the first 2 or 3 weeks the pros were restricted to basic choreography only (say no higher than Bronze), so that the celebs could have the chance to learn the basic principals such as contra body movement, sway, hip action, etc. unfortunately it wouldn't make for "exciting" television.

For those of you that know your dance coaches, my teacher tells me that Lorna Lee was in the running for Len's job before SCD started. Now she would have been a tough judge Grin

ScatterChasse · 14/10/2012 21:12

Yes, my teacher was saying they all try to run before they can walk.

Like Kimberley's foxtrot...later in the series that could have been really lovely, but she just wasn't good enough to dance it well.

EdgarAllanPond · 14/10/2012 21:13

" I can't see Russel Brand doing strictly he is too busy being Rusel Brand sex god "

:)

whoops! i meant russell grant, though i do think of russell brand as being the bastard child of Jo Brand and Russell Grant...

Mrsjay · 14/10/2012 21:15

are any of you old enough to remember the old come dancing before it became celeb I can remember watching it on my portable with dials in my bedroom.

TheAngelshavetheOod · 14/10/2012 21:15

I thought that about a few dances last night. I know nothing other than what I See on Strictly so am not clear on what sort of level Bronze would cover but I agree that a limit would be useful and make it easier to compare. I'd also rather they were tied to 2 or 4 dances to choose from for the same reason.

Mrsjay · 14/10/2012 21:16

i do think of russell brand as being the bastard child of Jo Brand and Russell Grant...

Oh good god what a thought Shock

digerd · 14/10/2012 21:18

My sister can't fault the 2 World Latin Champions Joanna Leunis and the american girl - the latter being very balletic and the former being earthier, but both brilliant in their own way. But can't expect that standard from the Strictly Celebs, of course. Just hope some will improve to make it exciting again.

DorsetKnob · 14/10/2012 21:19

I am MrsJay

digerd · 14/10/2012 21:20

ps. I like to see the men enjoying and being in character in the ballroom, but they tend to have problems with looking comfortable in the latin, bless them.

Mrsjay · 14/10/2012 21:21

I think you should all look out for Dani Harmer I do think she is going to be the 'dark horse' and is going to be brilliant ,

digerd · 14/10/2012 21:30

Mrsjay in the words of ? Forgotten the name." Oh you are awful, but I like you"!! Chuckle again

Mrsjay · 14/10/2012 21:32

? Forgotten the name Dick Emery and thank you Grin

Skillbo · 14/10/2012 21:34

I was sooo Sad to see Johnny Ball go - there was no way he was better than Michael daddance Vaughan! I am glad Richard is still in though but there's no way those to should have been in the dance off as there were far worse couples with a lot less going for them... ah well, I guess I should vote if I really want a say Smile

Will be a bit sad to see ITT on Monday when Zoe says goodbye to her dad. I was looking forward to some nice bits in the weeks ahead but hopefully he will pop back?

Louis does have a personality, or so I'm told - I think he must be a bit startled bunny in the headlights. Hopefully he'll start to relax - must be intimidating to be catapulted like he has and he's still only young (23)

Anyway - am glad Strictly is here, feels like we're really into Autumn.

Skillbo · 14/10/2012 21:35

Blush I meant there was no way Johnny Ball was worse than Mr Daddance!

digerd · 14/10/2012 21:36

Mrsjay. The old come dancing - what year was that? Remember the Black and White Minstrel Show, that mum and dad used to sing along to, and the Tiller Girls high kicking routines, and Bruce Forsythe dancing with Janet Ball (in black and white tv) He was very good - ballet dancing he was

Mrsjay · 14/10/2012 21:37

OH I think it was early 80s the old come dancing with Julia Morley and I am positive Judith Chalmers presented it

digerd · 14/10/2012 21:48

Mrsjay - re Jerry, I think she just looks a bit pathetic trying to look much younger than she obviously is, and should act her age with dignity as we all do !!!! Don't know how to do the funny faces

FrankelSaysRelax · 14/10/2012 22:06

My teacher also pulled Darcey up on telling Jerry she needs to lean away from Anton. There's so much more to it than that! It's about pulling up and rotating away from your partner, not "leaning".

Her posture is exaggerated I know, (and yes I've posted this video before Grin) but I find utterly mesmerising. My teacher keeps telling DH that he should watch Chris Hawkins as much as possible!

LetUsPrey · 14/10/2012 22:08

Poor Johnny Sad.

Won't be sorry to see Michael Vaughan go. Sort of like Jerry, but she can go soonish too.
