Is anyone else watching this? This week we had a nice gratuitous shirt off scene for Erik and Bill and one of the best insults I've ever heard..

I started to try and summarise the episode and had to go and check online so might as well just point you at that => this is probably the most coherent one I found

Or this one

Neither mentions that the Authority ask Bill & Eric to join them, and Eric says 'Never, you bible banging cunts' which is a lovely moment Grin. Although they basically then say, never mind that you are totally opposed to our religion and goals, come along and pretend you're on our side anyway. Confused

Still, it kind of defeats the True Blood purpose to query the plot too closely!

It's drifting a bit I think!

True Blood has veered way off from the books. The themes of seasons 1-4 (Maenad, Russell, witches etc) were broadly similar but the characters are different (eg Lafayette got killed in book 1 IIRC) and the plot details too.
Plus I don't think there is any Authority in the books above the state kings and queens, so this season is completely random.
Reading the books doesn't help any, despite what DH claims when I'm the only one who can remember last week's plot!

I like to think of it as the Rocky Horror version of Eastenders...!

This has dropped off my Threads I'm On - bah!
I have to admit its not so much Must See TV anymore - although I shall stick with it because it does have one or two classic lines per episode. DH & I still tell each other to F the F off you cting twt regularly. That and everytime the FX warning comes on saying "This show contains scenes of a sexual nature" we both automatically go "wahey!"

Jason's one liners are the best , he by far makes me laugh the most , however lafayette gets some corkers too.

I will forever watch the show I think its quite addictive and will forever have the best theme tune

Jason holds a special place in my heart, I like him & Jessica together. Lafayettes lines have been funnier this season than for ages - he kind of tailed off for a few seasons and lost his sassiness (sp?).
I totally agree about the opening credits and theme tune, something that Homeland should have thought about with their awful credits - I always Sky+ so I can fast forward, but not with True Blood. The Sopranos ones used to be good too.

love the opening scenes of true blood and music, same with amercian horror

I love the opening credits, how it shows the contrast with the very religious deep south and the rednecks practically having sex in the bar. The song goes with it perfectly. Always gets my foot tapping. I also love American Horror Story credits.

I can't wait for the new season. I watched all of this season months ago and I was Shock at the last episode.

I am feeling a bit meh about the series so far. I have enjoyed Tara and Pam's new dynamic.

11/12 on tomorrow; I hope it heats up.

Ive really enjoyed this season, apart from the Terry fire storyline there havent been any bits where I have been "just get on with it"

I was a bit Confused by Bill's complete change of personality but when they said about "nest behaviour" I remembered that that was mentioned in one of the earlier seasons.

Totally loving Lafayette this season, love it when he is all glammed up in his silk and make up with that mouth on him - makes me laugh so much. Glad Tara has her sass back and the relationship with Pam is brilliant. As for Russel, so funny. I love its black humour, it so works for me.

Series finale this week! Things that I hope happen:
-Bill snaps out his religious thing quick smart (or is revealed to be faking it & being a double crosser)
-Erik finds some way of getting ghost Godric back
-Sookie saves herself without the aid of any vamps
-Jess & Jason to get back together
-Lillith puts some damn clothes on although Alcide could take his shirt off again (as long as it was integral to the plot of course)

"Lillith puts some damn clothes on although Alcide could take his shirt off again"

Much as Lillith is starting to annoy me I will tolerate it as long as Alcide takes his shirt off again - for a show which has more than its share of nudity he is the one who makes me stop and go "oh my" every time Grin

IdaBlankenship · 04/12/2012 14:49

I can't watch it until Friday as DH is away! Damn it I shall have to stay away from this thread for fear of spoilers. Glad it was a good one though.

Good lord, do we have to wait a frigging year?! Noooooooo!

When's it back on?

Report
CruCru · 10/12/2012 21:26

I think the wait will be longer than usual as Anna Paquin was pregnant earlier this year, putting back filming.

Report
Blondeshavemorefun · 10/12/2012 22:57

Oh. Didn't know she was preg

Report
BoulevardOfBrokenSleep · 10/12/2012 23:24

Yeah, she had twins about 5 mins after they finished filming the season Shock

In the finale, she is mostly shown from the waist up, but the pink dress she's wearing at the start is obviously a maternity one, however hard they tried to get a good angle...!
