I am beside myself with excitement. here - who's putting the contacts in? Is that Carrie in a disguise? Any one else agog?

I agree mike must be pivotal in some way, they are making too much of him for him just to be a side story. I also worried there was going to be some Dana/mile sleaze, surely not though!
I think they suspect Brody and will give him another test. To kill Carrie???!!! (Obviously I think we can rest easy that Carrie and Brody will survive, but they will make us worry...)

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 27/11/2012 07:56

Mike was a stepfather figure to Dana when they thought Brody was dead, I don't think there'll be any sleaze.

Fiderer · 27/11/2012 09:54

Agree also that Mike will play more of a role when things start to unravel for Brody, as they seem to be. He's been suffering long enough with his love of the Doe-Eyed One.

There must also be some more coming with the Dana/Finn hit and run story. Yes to blackmailing the VP. Otherwise it was a long build-up just to see Dana suffering and looking angsty. I liked Finn, poor sod.

digestiveandacupoftea · 27/11/2012 10:45

Ooh a thought: I wonder if Virgil could be the mole? He is always slinking around looking suspicious to me.

Yes I was worried Dana and Mike would get up to stuff but am glad they didn't. We are meant to believe Mike is good I think.

donnie · 27/11/2012 11:29

Don't think Virgil is the mole.

My money is still on Saul. I will wager real cash! don't you think it's strange how Eileen and also the Iraqi guard from the 1st series BOTH managed to kill themselves whilst under Saul's interrogation? He whispered something to that guard, I remember it well. Plus there was the little thing with the mat..... He enabled them both to martyr themselves IMO.

I am also thinking that maybe Saul's ex wife is embroiled somehow although she hasn't appeared in this series. Might be wrong about that.

Shame about Galvez. Quite liked him and thought maybe he and Carrie would have a little fling-ette Grin

Fiderer · 27/11/2012 11:35

Virgil Shock Nooooooh. Saul, Virgil and Max are Good Guys. I think V & M are unsung heroes, a lot cleverer than the sleek CIA analysts realise.

Mike really was a surrogate father for Dana and Chris for 8 years, he was going to move in when Brody came back. I must admit I never felt that sorry for him as he's well-matched emotions-wise with Jessica.

mignonette · 27/11/2012 11:35

Am amusing myself looking out for signs of Claire Danes pregnancy in this series. You can see occasional glimpses of it. She is a superlative actor, always has been.

WipsGlitter · 27/11/2012 13:49

I've wondered about Saul's wife too, they do mention her from time to time which seems odd if she's not relevant to the story.

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 27/11/2012 13:56

What was it about the scene that made people think "potential Dana-Mike sleaze"?

Zepherial · 27/11/2012 14:02

Super seris also is Dana the woman from 'V'?

Blu · 27/11/2012 14:10

Oh, because Dana was showing such empathy with him, and he is vulnerable and lonely for lurve, and she is a teen, and looking at him with big eyes, and she wnats someone to look after her, and she is usually in quite frumpy outfits and track suits around the house but she was in a short, low cut, sleeveless vest dress.

Blu · 27/11/2012 14:11

And because plotwise things have to get worse for them all.

Fiderer · 27/11/2012 14:21

Maybe they mention Saul's wife because he was heartbroken when she left him as he was so busy at the CIA that they spent very little time together. I think the writers want us see that as A Clue to Saul being the mole, which of course he isn't.
I also think he was genuinely upset by Eileen's death. Berated himself afterwards for being too sentimental.

Woman from "V"? Is that like Judi Dench = M?

LauraPashley · 27/11/2012 20:08

I just always think the role of the teenager in these things is to do some big "fuck you all" type of action, just to get attention/get back at her parents. Dana has been altogether too good so far but I think now she'll want to do something bad because she is so angry with Brody. (I don't think mike sleaze will be her thing tho, that would hurt mum rather than dad).

LightHousekeeping · 27/11/2012 20:18

there wont be any sleaze of that sort. We have Hollyoaks for that Smile

bunchamunchycrunchycarrots · 27/11/2012 20:41

Woman from 'V' = actress who plays Jessica also played the lead in the remake of the 80s mini series 'V'. The one that had diane, the lizard baby, Willie freddie from nightmare on elm st the 'good' alien and the TV reporter saving the day with the 'resistance' etc. Remake was actually quite good, and I was gutted they cancelled it before it got really good. 'Jessica' was brilliant as a psycho evil alien biatch... Nowt like her doe-eyed, stepfordesque-wife efforts in Homeland.

Ahem. As you were...

Hassled · 27/11/2012 20:45

Oh I can quite see Jessica as a psycho evil alien biatch. She would do bitch well, I reckon.

I haven't once spotted Claire Danes' pregnancy - am very unobservant. There has been a lot of her walking away from things, though, hasn't there?

Virgil can't be the mole, and St Saul definitely isn't the mole. We're running out of suspects - remind me again why we think there's a mole?

OP posts:
bunchamunchycrunchycarrots · 27/11/2012 20:54

I should have mentioned, in light of the comments on her unusually long neck/small head, picture that head flipping open like a pac man but with hundreds of humungous sharp teeth, ideal for devouring humans/aliens, whatever takes her fancy, and a tail that can skewer any number of poor sods standing within 100 metres, but strangley disappears up her own arse once maximum damage has been done. She was a bad un, all right! Grin

Showtime · 27/11/2012 21:31

Recently read somewhere that "Jessica" had done 15 episodes of "Homeland", which makes me wonder if she'll soon be written out?

bunchamunchycrunchycarrots · 27/11/2012 21:41

Ooh, interesting! She does know 'too much' if you think about it. She knows about VP son killing a pedestrian, she knows about Brody killing Walker thanks to Mike, she knows Brody is working for the CIA, but has already been 'loose-tongued' about that by mentioning it to Mike. The only thing she doesn't know is that Brody is also working for Nazir as well. She could become a 'problem' for any one of those with a stake in all those 'secrets' coming out.

LauraPashley · 27/11/2012 22:15

Hassled I am glad you asked that re the mole as I can't remember either!

Nancy66 · 27/11/2012 22:33

...i've just watched the next episode.

All I'll say is that i was a bit confused before - now I haven't got a fucking clue what's going on

bunchamunchycrunchycarrots · 27/11/2012 22:55

Re the mole - was it not something to do with the 'asset' carrie had who was close to some 'prince' bloke who had links to Nazir? She was killed in the alley, by the driver of her limo or something? And only the 'mole' could have 'outed' the asset so that she was then a target? Or am I just totally confused Confused

Fiderer · 28/11/2012 06:22

When Eileen's husband was found to be a baddie (can't remember how now) Carrie tailed him to find out where he lived, there was something dodgy about his 'official' address. Someone, The Mole, called Eileen at the last minute and she hung out a flag as a warning sign to Rakim (?) to drive past the house.

When the diplomat the CIA blackmailed into helping them went to meet Tom Walker and it turned out to be a trap - a bomb went off and Carrie ended in in hospital, Saul and Estes talked about there being someone "in government" who was helping Nazir.

Since then though, no mention? Apart from Roya getting the combination to Estes' safe, maybe.

Fiderer · 28/11/2012 06:27

bunch I think the driver was a baddy but the prince not. The driver stole the v expensive necklace to get money for the Nazir plot and shot the girl.
