I don't get the Harrison story

oh Ood I could hug you. Neither do I but I didn't want to say. I know he murdered a woman in the kitchen but that's it. I have no idea who the man with Elaine was either.

Harrison pleaded guilty (initally) to murdering Lauren (or whatever her name was).

Now he has changed his please to not guilty, Elaine and Jack will be called as witnesses. But actually, that calls into question why Harrison is allowed to harass Elaine via phone from a prison?!?

The bloke turning up at Elaine's door is saying Harrison murdered his wife a while back.

A bit late but I was confused with the Jack bit working for a legal firm (was it legal aid?) When did he get that job ? Also, they mentioned him going to Newcastle on Friday- I haven't missed any episodes so when was that discussed!
