I don't think I've been this excited about a new series ever!! It looks amazing, trashy, overblown and ridiculous, I can't wait, literally can't wait for it to start, I love Dallas so much I actually contemplated calling my first child Sly after JR's secretary, it's the best name ever!!! Everyone very relieved when baby was a boy.

I've just seen the trailer which is why I'm hysterical, I'll go and calm down now.........

Fabulous! It just got better throughout the whole episode. John Ross has certainly improved from the pudding basin and white suit days. Can't wait for the next one, am well and truely hooked already.

Marta and Rebecca and Elena look too similar with their tousled hair all down. Could they wear name badges for fools like me?

At least Lucy I won't confuse with anyone else.

Loved it! Took me right back to my early teens when it was (sadly) the highlight of my week, and I think it might become so again!!

My Dallas favourite was Clayton Farlow. (Howard Keel still had it at 70+)

I wondered if I'd missed them mentioning Pam not at the wedding - I really wish she'd come back too! I love it when the old ones are back - yes, yes to Jenna, Pam, Donna (Rays wife - that was her name?), Cliff & Jenna's daughter (Charlie I think). Loving it

Can't believe how much I enjoyed this Just had to look up the original on Wikipedia to remind me who's who as I was quite young first time round - as someone said earlier, not sure I should really have been watching it!

So the woman in the Dallas Cowboys stadium was the same woman Bobby was in the helicopter with? That kind of makes sense. But as you say, why there? Why not in McDonalds?

Thought the two new main characters (Christopher and JRJ) were v good - Christopher is quite yummy in a young way (would probably fancy him more with some man-wrinkles ten years on) and JRJ reminded me of Jonathan Rhys Meyers - without the hammy acting

Jr used to meet secret people at his excutive booth at Dallas stadium, although not sure why they had to meet right in middle
She was just showing off that she could walk on grass in heels

Pam left/went missing years ago not long after her and bobby got remarried so there is no reason for her to be mentioned as she hasn't been part of Christopher's life since he was little.

But Jenna did have Bobbys baby wonder will he make an appearance or did something happen to him

Margaret and Lucas? I am clearly not the Dallas buff I thought I was. I have to admit, I read that the original series didn't finish until 1991 - I must have stopped watching it years before that; probably mid-80's when the Bobby shower thing happened - didn't realise it went on so many years after that.

Margaret's Mum is Donna, Lucas was born to Jenna, Bobby was the Dad, Ray got with Jenna after she was dumped by Bobby and he was dumped by Donna. Both ladies were pregnant at the time.

the brilliant over the top randomness of meeting in the middle of the football pitch, and putting your stetson on to deliver your line is what makes Dallas. I bloody love it. Much prefer JR and john ross, bobby always struck me as the nice but dim category.

Did anyone else think that Bobby wanted to sell because he´s dying, not because he wanted to fund Christopher?

diddl I assumed JR was deemed unfit so Bobby was incharge, agree think Bobby is rich enough to fund Christopher anyway without selling SF I thought it was because he was dying

I have just watche ethics with dh who was "made" to watch the original series by his dm and dsis. He has made a prediction.

I could google be uase the series has run in the states but I don't want to spoil it.

Well it's a wild guess prediction. Dh thinks that rebecca, Christopher's wife, is somehow related to cliff Barnes. I had to ask who cliff barnes was! I'm too young to remember the original series in any detail other than my mum like bobby!

Does that sound feasible?
