Emmerdale: Rhona & Paddy vs Marlon

Just wondering what everyone thinks about the storyline with Marlon trying to prevent Rhona and Paddy taking Leo to New Zealand.

If I was in Marlon's shoes I would do the same. But if he stops them then that means that Rhona and Paddy are prevented from doing what they want.

I feel sorry for all 4 of them (5 counting Leo). I'd do the same as Marlon too, I think. Paddy threatening to out Marlon's relationship with Laurel is vile. I've never liked Paddy and now I really don't like him. I think the acting is really good by all the actors in this story arc. There's no way this can end without someone getting hurt is there. Interesting twist though. Anyone else finding the whole Moira and Alex thing a tad unbelievable/annoying/stupid?

I think that paddy is in the wrong, I think he is being unreasonable to want to take someone else's child half way across the world because he is bored and having a mid life crisis, marlon was meant to be his best friend and yet he considered taking Leo away from him for his own needs and is comming across ad very selfish.

I missed most of today's so might be wrong but are dan and chas together because I find that really had to believe.

I think the problem with the Moria story is that Alex is a really bad actor and just seems to send his while time looking people up and down with the one expression. I think Moria goes well .... Actually can't think of anyone

Love emmerdale and think the acting great but I think the story lines have been a bit thin since the jackson story ended and Amy had her baby.

I bloody love Emmerdale. I'm 100% on Marlon's side in this, Paddy and Rhona are behaving so badly scheming and trying to get him to drop the court case. Totally agree that it's Paddy's midlife crisis, and he's forgetting that Leo is not his son.

Cannot wait for the live episode in October when all the Chas/Cameron/Debbie stuff comes out, and Debbie and Gennie's babies are born. There's meant to be weddings too... Debbie and Cameron's I think, and someone else too...

...I know it's not real, honest! Grin

I love Emmerdale as well! If Paddy & Rhona want to go to New Zealand then they should go, leave Leo with Marlon and then they can fly back to visit .

griphook - yep Chas and Dan are an item but think Chas is using him to get back at Cameron. Poor Dan!!

I think as others said Paddy is in the wrong and it's awful considering how Marlon handle the whole paddy/rhona thing in the first place!

I don't know they will ever get the old Marlon and daddy comedy moments back after this though.

I didn't realise there were going to be live episodes either. Now in addition to finding Alex (rubber lips) and Moira totally unbelievable, I think Chas and Dan are too. If it's to make Cameron jealous, then surely that's not going to work as I don't think he would be jealous one bit.

In fairness, the dingles being related to one another never seems to stop them.
I might go down in flames here but I can see Rhona's side in this as well as Marlon's. It would be a brilliant time and she wouldn't have to work and would be able to spend quality time with Leo. It is for a set amount of time, they aren't going away forever. She has offered for Marlon to come with them ( which he was delighted to do at one point), or is open to alternative arrangements and is willing to pay for airfare. When she was trying to talk to Marlon about it he didn't want to know and then he jumps straight to the legal route. I just think they should have sat down, been honest and talk through the options, TBH.

As an aside the actor who plays Dan is married to Moira from Hollyoakes.

Tbh I predicted the Moira/Alex thing a while back as he gave her a look that just said they'd be hopping in to bed as soon as possible.

I am not a fan of Marlon/Laurel and can't believe they are dragging out the whole relationship.

I think that Marlon should have had a proper legal arrangement in place long ago before this whole stryline started.

Why should he not take this opportunity? It's not forever, Marlon was invited and was all set on going with them. It's all got nasty, but that's because Marlon hasn't been honest and ruined the wedding!!!!
To be honest, I find it hard to warm to any Marlon storyline as I don't like him. (mature)

They had a plan that Marlon was part of and he changed his mind. Why should they give up a dream opportunity because Marlon has chosen what's her name (can't think) instead.

I think they have been more than fair offering to take him or at least pay for as many visits as he wants.

Paddy may not be Leo's dad, but he's married to Leo's mum. Rhona isn't going to leave him behind. Why shouldn't Paddy want to take new opportunities and see more of the world? It's only for a year (or two?) and he could visit!

but a lot of dad who are separated don't live in the same village as the ex and don't see their kids for months on end. My mum moved when she left my dad. He had us on alternate school holidays and we spoke on the phone regularly. I don't think that either me or my dad felt short changed by the arrangement. It's just the way life is.
