Just read that Katya Virshilas isn't returning to the show, a new dancer Karen Hauer is taking her place.

Nah. Dancers have different genres. A dancer trained I. Hip hop couldn't dance a waltz (unless they were trained)

Fern was fun, Nicky will get better but I don't take to his partner, Michael hmmm didn't grab my attention, Colin DID grab my attention and seems a natural, Denise and James are going to play the "are they / aren't they having a shag romance?" card to stay in as long as possible.

And Bruce needs to be sacked. Appalling.

I'm a lawyer. If I changed areas I would have to learn the law but I wouldn't have to learn how to learn the new area of law. My training would hold me in good sted. Exactly the same for DVO and it is an unfair to have her participating when clearly she has had heaps of dance training.

So they were running out of time and the cut the judges but not Bruces 'jokes' .

Victoria looked good in the bits she remembered. Nicky and his partner didn't look like they liked each other. He stood with his hands in his pockets the whole time, no hugging.

There is no need for a presenter at all. The voiceover man can introduce them, they dance, then get the judges comments, plus scores. Then there's no need for the Tess bit either. Sorted.

Hmm yes deffo agree about Denise. Does seem to have a bit of an advantage. I thought I caught her giving Tess a killer glare when they were having their post-dance chat and Tess couldn't seem to make eye contact with her. Awkward.

I feel very sorry for Victoria though. She looked terrified before her dance and I thought she might try to walk off during it. I don't like to see people suffering in the name of entertainment!

Dont diss Darcey though!! She seems to be trying to give constructive criticism. Craig was a bit harsh for the first show of the series.

Fern Britten's may have a smaller bottom these days (and nice legs) but I can't stand her. Biggest. Ego. There.

Can't stand DVO. Her head is stuck up her own arsehole. Stupid bint. WTF is she in the show anyway. She can already dance. She's been to theatre school, starred on West End shows. Fake fuckwit!
Hope Darcey is going to quit saying YES after every couple of words. Gordon Ramsey does it, Jeremy Kyle does it and now her. Do these people think the people they talk too are complete thickos and just don't get it? YES!

Jerry will pose around a bit in the worlds slowest Cha Cha and look pretty good doing it. Johnny could have done a competent Waltz but I'd be surprised to see him doing a watchable Cha Cha.

Dunno about Sid. I'd expect him to be slightly rubbish.

Poor Victoria Pendleton - she seems quite highly strung and overwhelmed by the whole thing. Hope she relaxes and gets into it - the bits she got right looked amazing - that posture!

Not sure about Darcy , maybe its just nerves and she will settle down. It was a bit annoying the judges hamming up their trademark styles , again hopefully that will settle down

Nicky - potential but doesn't seem to be much chemistry. Could have been nerves I suppose. Karen has a "Goldie Hawn" high cleavage which for some reason I don't like. Soz.

Michael - better than I thought he'd be but I could see him counting in his head!

Victoria - great start, lost her way but it seemed a lot of routine, lots of potential if she can get over the nerves.

Colin - helllloooooooo! Great rhythm, great attitude, great expression, great chemistry. Lurve him!

DvO - good dance but there is that advantage and I don't like her that much.

Can't wait for tonight's!

My summary:

Bruce - I just skyplus and start watching after 15/20 so I can ff through him.

Tess - didn't the dress was bad by her standards tbh.

Felt sorry for VP. She looks beautiful and will obviously have fitness and self discipline on her side. However dancing is as much art as science and can't just be 'solved'. Hope she gets better.

Thought Colin Salmon was good but slightly too camp in some of his moves. Enjoyed watching him though.

DVO - good, but she should be.

Nicky - ok but stiff and didn't seem to get on with partner.

Michael V - better than I thought and seemed to be a nice chap.

Ferne - annoying skirt flicking and seemed like a easy number to me.

DH reckons Darcey sounds like Danny La Rue. Or Bubbles for Little Britain, yah? And what is going on with her nose?

Did they cock up the timings so much that we only saw 6 couples dance instead of 7 last night? And yet they kept in Bruce's shite jokes, all that faffing around with the martinis, and Tess's inane wittering upstairs?

Please inform BBC production / direction team that it's the DANCING and the sensible judging (I mean more Craig / less Bruno "Windmill" Tonioli) that we want to see!

It will be interesting to see how they prune it down to make up time tonight - I'm guessing Brucie won't be cut in any way, but we'll have really brief judgey comments, backfilled with Darcey's yah's

I think they only cut out some of the judges' comments, not the dances. According the schedule, there was always only going to be 6 couples last night, and 8 tonight. But totally agree, I'd rather hear the judges apart from Darcy than Bruce. iklboo, at Darcy sounding like Bubbles!
