DP and I have watched Lost, Alias, Stargate, the IT Crowd, Frasier.

We are thinking of starting at the beginning of either House or the Westwing. Any other suggestions?

I love the IT Crowd Grin

Roger and Val

The Big Bang Theory

If you are OK about animation, The Cleveland Show

LizzieVereker · 12/08/2012 20:16

Prison Break? Or you might like Supernatural if you like ghostly things.

Handsfullandrunningforgold · 12/08/2012 20:18

I second The big bang theory.
The walking dead
Game of thrones

DisappointedHorse · 12/08/2012 20:19

Breaking Bad, the best thing on TV in my opinion.

Spinaroo · 12/08/2012 20:21

The West wing is fab. Do it!

DraggleTailedWench · 12/08/2012 20:21

The Big Bang Theory - I love that show too. TBH I don't count it as something to sit and watch together because it's on so much!

Game of Thrones - definitely a good one. I've been listening to the audio book and I think that's a great idea.

Waking the dead, Prison Break, Supernatural - I hadn't thought of any of those. Really promising that you put them in lists with other shows I love too!

Animation is absolutely not a problem.

Wow I do seem to like my tv!

Oh Walking Dead NOT Waking the dead - really not heard of the Walking Dead! Blush

You must watch West Wing. No show before or since can match it.

TheSurgeonsMate · 12/08/2012 20:25

Buffy! Seriously, it really is as good as you remember, it was high quality stuff. And if you like it, there's Angel too. And that's like a year of telly sorted.

West wing has to be up there if you haven't watched it. Have you watched kind of some of it?

Best of crime solving/mystery of the week: Bones, Burn Notice

Coolest scifi : Battlestar Galactica. Is about politics, not aliens. Very good, at least initially

We loved Alias. All those outfits! Our favourite line, from Marshall, "What is it with bad guys and nightclubs?" It has one of the most satisfactory endings of any multiple season show, I think.

DraggleTailedWench · 12/08/2012 20:26

Ok, two votes for the West Wing. Might be a silly question but is there any romance in it? I love a good underlying romance, and about 5 seasons in when they get together and DP is surprised I can feel smug that I spotted it in episode 1! Grin

I'm surprised that no one has put a good word in for House, I thought it was meant to be popular?

The walking dead is about zombies. It has Andrew Lincon - Egg out of This Life in it.

TheSurgeonsMate · 12/08/2012 20:28

Yes, some romance. The Bartlett's have an interesting marriage and there is a will they won't they office relationship.

Handsfullandrunningforgold · 12/08/2012 20:31

I will have to give West Wing a go.
I did see a couple of episodes of the first series of Dexter which seemed good but I missed the rest as they were on well past my bed time.

Whirliwig72 · 12/08/2012 20:32

I recommend (taking IT crowd as the starting point):

Mighty Boosh
13 storeys
Nathan Barley
I am not an Animal
Father Ted
Big train (sketch show)

DraggleTailedWench · 12/08/2012 20:32

That's just the kind of thing TheSurgeonsMate. Thanks!

I will second Buffy, I need to rewatch all over again but am half-way through my umpteenth West Wing rewatch!

Also

How I Met Your Mother
Don't Trust the Bitch in Apartment 23

And for old school (pardon the pun), you can't do better than Teachers - it was filmed at my old school Grin

IWantAYeti · 12/08/2012 20:39

Another vote for battlestar galactica, just about finished the last series and it is brilliant if you like stargate type stuff!

CailinDana · 13/08/2012 17:01

House starts out well and drifts into silliness and boringness.

peanutMD · 13/08/2012 19:41

Being human (my favourite show ever!)
ER
The Mighty Boosh
The Inbetweeners
Silent Witness

SandWitch · 13/08/2012 19:45

House
Criminal Minds
Dexter
The Newsroom

justwantcheese · 13/08/2012 19:57

Homeland is the best thing since lost.

cupcake78 · 13/08/2012 20:02

The wire
The shield
Game of thrones
Dexter
House
