Hear ye, hear ye! New thread for Jesus freaks here.

OP posts:
Born2bemild · 24/07/2012 22:44

What is your first fave Never?

Bossybritches22 · 24/07/2012 22:48

Never Wicked is very good, lots of in jokes about the Wizard of Oz but still great even if you haven't seen the film.

Cracking good tunes in it too, & the costumes are fab.

ChoccyJules · 24/07/2012 23:05

Marking my place in the final epic final thread

Sparklingbrook · 24/07/2012 23:12

What do we all win for sticking it out til the bitter end?

NeverTalksToStrangers · 24/07/2012 23:14

Les Mis. Obvs.

Cheddars · 24/07/2012 23:20

Marking my place. I should win a bloody prize for watching this show and reading the thread an hour behind everyone else.

I have to watch itv+1 when dh goes to bed. Blush

It's hard to watch and read at the same time without giving myself spoilers. oh my god I am so sad and should take up a meaningful hobby

NeverTalksToStrangers · 24/07/2012 23:24

I have a love-hate relationship with spoilers, lol. I don't want to want to know, but I do.

SuePurblybilt · 25/07/2012 08:25

Rory is just so teeny. He's fine for Jesus, but not for fancying imo. Not for me.
I think it's between him and Mackem tho.

Raahh · 25/07/2012 08:37

Hello new thread.
I am very, very confused nothing new there
I had got it into my head this finished Thursday, the dcs break up for the summer on Thursday. In my head, TODAY is Thursday. Except it isn't, and I'm all Confused.

So, my tip is Rory. Because I find Pob a bit sinister, and Roger is a god, but he isn't the son of God - and the shiny trousers are a bit iffy. I think they have kept him this far, because Dawn has nothing of merit to say, and they think her letching is funny. It's just a bit boring now same rules do not apply to letching on this thread, however

Dh back on nights (no wonder i'm confused, his shifts have been all over the placeGrin)- so no interruptions!!Grin

And I am NOT going to get sucked into the Hell that is This Morning todayGrin

c4rnsi1lk · 25/07/2012 14:51

Rory is too little, cute and smily for Jesus I reckon. Jesus was quite moody I reckon, disappearing off to the desert for a 40 day strop and flipping tables kind of moody.

cardibach · 25/07/2012 16:15

I think Rory could do moody, though. If Michael Ball can pull off psychopath in 'Sweeney Todd' anything is possible! THe other two aren't superficially physically right for the part either. I just want to hear them all sing Gethsemane.

alemci · 25/07/2012 16:33

they used to show JCS every Easter. When we were kids we found it hilarious especially how the whole cast fitted into a minibus and drove out of the desert.

i love the music and went to see it in the West End in 1997.

NeverTalksToStrangers · 25/07/2012 18:16

Jebus can deffo be small. There's a line in JCS (yes i know every word - I am actually that sad) where Pilate sings/says

"He looks so small, not a king at all".

By this stage Jebus be a broken, depressed kinda bloke, but still. If big giant Roger was Jebus that might not work.

The small thing doesn't bother me as I'm only 5ft 2. Being short deffo had it's advantages growing up. Lots of hot slightly below average height blokes around. More choice than the tall girls, lol.

Yeah Rory is kinda smiley (I just wanna eat him up) but I'd say he can do moody... What man can't do moody?? Bet he'd be good at filthy too. He could do that an all (to me).

cocolepew · 25/07/2012 18:17

Tell me this is Ben(?) in it still? Hes from my town.

SuePurblybilt · 25/07/2012 18:19

He is, coco, he is Mackem Jesus

Yeah, give it to Rory. Divvy up the rest amongst the others and it's all good.

Raahh · 25/07/2012 18:26

See, that is what sets the musical shows apart from the X Factor shows, and why I like them- they are like auditions to a mass audience. A far larger number of ex-contestants from these have gone on to get other jobs in theatre, whilst in the X Factor even the winner isn't guaranteed success. I still love X Factor thoughBlush

I am quite excited about thisBlush

cocolepew · 25/07/2012 18:29

Oh, good for him.

SuePurblybilt · 25/07/2012 18:31

Yes, but Raah, on the XF you can be guaranteed to have three hours of pointless music played under your name on one of the Freeview music channels. Frankie CockOozer gives it large! (three hours of adverts, incompetent linking and try-hard rock)
Diana Vickers vs Pixie Lott! (three hours of no linking, mercifully, but much contrived fey ponciness)

Sadly there is no equivalent for musical theatre.

NeverTalksToStrangers · 25/07/2012 18:32

I am so excited it's pathetic! It's been like a shit-tv-but-good-talent drug in the last week or so. Will miss it when it is over.

Totally agree with raahh about how nice it is that the other contestants tend to do well.

Raahh · 25/07/2012 19:15

Sue- true. What is Cockwomble up to at the moment anyway?

I'm still mourning JesusJesus. There's not enough beard action left for meGrin

We've done well to get this far. lets hope it is not a huge anti-climaxGrin

ChoccyJules · 25/07/2012 20:21

I think it'll come down to Rory and Ben and ALW will choose Rory, or the audience will seem to choose Rory (ahem) cos basically ALW picked Rory a LONG week ago.

Which I think is fair for the voice but Ben seems to have more shades/sides/depth to him.

Roger is wonderful in many ways but not for this role, sorry Rog.

Raahh · 25/07/2012 20:45

Oh god- Amanda appears to be dressed as a beetle.

NeverTalksToStrangers · 25/07/2012 20:50

Where did you cop a look at her Raah?

Tommy · 25/07/2012 20:51

does AH not have a stylist/dresser/whatever they are?!
Shock

NeverTalksToStrangers · 25/07/2012 20:51

I don't think ALW has casting vote, does he?? He didn't with the other shows as far as i remember?!
