For DH and I to watch. We've seen fringe, lost, the walking dead, the killing, 24, prison break and a few others and are looking for something new to buy. Doesn't have to be a new out series, infact, better if it's not as it may be cheaper then Wink

Thanks

Touch - tho has only just finished showing the 1st series on sky - sci fi ( I think)

Game of thrones - medieval fantasy with lots of sex and gore brilliant

Tru calling - old one so should be cheap but annoying cancelled h/w through series two still worth watching tho - also sort of sci fi.

Stargate sg1 or stargate universe don't like the atlantis one personally - sci fi

Omg I watch a lot of sci fi!!

I've just started watching 'Jericho' and I'm really enjoying it at present.

The Wire, without a shadow of a doubt
True Blood
Firefly
Battlestar Gallactica (not seen myself but know many, male and female, who love it)
Game of Thrones
Being Human
early Spooks
Heroes

If you enjoyed The Killing, try The Bridge - also scandanavin but not exactly the same.

Game of Thrones is brilliant

Six Feet Under defnintely.

Also try Life on Mars?

Uhh Prison Break

Fizzylemonade · 06/07/2012 20:02

Eureka is fab and funny, I have also seen a lot of what you have, Firefly, The Killing, 4400 etc

Can I also recommend Castle, Nathan Fillion of Firefly fame, love him.

Veronica Mars is about high school students but it is well written and not for teenagers as you would think it would be.

WyrdMother · 06/07/2012 20:03

Falling skies - Fairly new, alien Invaders, just started a second season
Spaced - No real relation to anything you've listed, I just love it.
The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy Series (for combined comedy sci-fi and 80s cheesy special effects. Zaphod's extra head makes me grin every time).
Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes would round that lot off nicely.

JustFab,don't say that,I'm only three episodes in!

Does it all go to pot,or did you not enjoy it from the beginning?

JustFabulous · 06/07/2012 20:09

It ends abruptly as the series was cancelled due to the writer's strike and it just felt a bit pointless. The end part was just daft.

It took a while to get into and then was okay but we sold it on ebay as we knew we would never want to watch it again.

If you are enjoying it though, carry on!

Smorgs · 06/07/2012 20:14

West Wing - but be prepared to lose hours of your life as it's quite long and addictive.

Breaking Bad - only seen the first series, but it was great.

The Wire - haven't seen it yet, but so, so many people have told me it's the best.

Or... controversially, what about some of the old classics like Jeeves and Worcester? Poirot? Darling Buds of May?

JemimaPuddle · 06/07/2012 20:16

Game of Thrones
True Blood
The Killing
Homeland
Shameless - the first ones are quite old now but excellent if you've not seen them

Smorgs · 06/07/2012 20:16

Oh, and Brothers and Sisters. Might be a girl thing though, your DH might not enjoy it so much.

Green Wing - how could I forget that?!

Dollhouse

HarrietJonez · 06/07/2012 20:30

Anyone seen 'the finder' ? Some overlap with Bones, wondered if it was any good?

loopydoo · 06/07/2012 20:33

The best programme/series I have ever watched is still ALIAS. The stunning Jennifer Garner and delicious Michael Vartan (yum yum) are amazing. I never wanted it to end.....but it did Sad. I left it a year and then re-watched it and it was still as amazing as ever.

Once you watch it, you will believe you can do anything and that you are equally capable of being a double CIA agent as Sydney Bristow (AKA Jen Garner) Grin
