AIBU to think conor from BB should be booted out?

For those who dont watch it-

Big Brother on channel 5-one of the male contestents dislikes a female contestent called deana. He and a few other of the males have been really nasty and imo are bullying her.

Last night he said that he was going to "fuck her up the arse and the minge with her own epilator"Shock

He then threatened to knock her out.

On the follow up programme bit on the side I felt they were trying to down play how bad his behaviour was although clearly the audience felt differently.

Aibu to think that he should have been booted out immediately for such disgusting remarks?...

Perhaps the answer would be not to watch such crap, then such vile creatures wouldn't have an audience for their bullshit?

GoranisGod · 26/06/2012 20:04

sassy-if you dont like watching it then why bother to comment on the thread. I watch it because I am basically a nosey cow and love to spy on how other people react when put in certain situations.

If he threatened her then the Police should have been called.

Gumby · 26/06/2012 20:05

I didn't see him say that

But I did wonder if she didn't eat the beef because she's hindu?

rhondajean · 26/06/2012 20:06

I came on to say YAbu for watching it at all - but having read your thread, I think a member of the public can make a complaint to the police in cases like this.

JumpingThroughHoops · 26/06/2012 20:06

People still watch this dysfunctional shit?

GoranisGod · 26/06/2012 20:08

gumby-he said it at the dining table and used a hairbrush to demonstrate how he would fuck her-deana was in the kitchen at the time-dont think she heard all the things he said.

It wasnt beef she had to eat,it was spam but was still uncalled for the way they all turned on her. She is merely a scape goat.

I think if they had played what he said to all the other housemates then he would be up for eviction.

I am sure that if someone suggested such vile sexual violence on the outside then they would be arrested no?

ScooseLooseAbootThisHoose · 26/06/2012 20:09

I agree Goran I thought it was vile the way he spoke about deena and he should definitely be thrown out! People have been evicted for less. I felt physically sick listening to what he was saying he is vile in fact they all are! I don't see why they are all bullying deena. And it wasn't beef by the way it was ham/spam.

Sassybeast · 26/06/2012 20:14

Your OP specifically provided a synopsis for 'those who don't watch it' Wink

The problem with dross like BB is that there are plenty of brainless morons who will watch it and think it's cool to be a homophobic/mysoginistic/racist idiot. And by watching it, you are pushing he ratings up and feeding the demand for such dangerous rubbish to be broadcast on national TV. Don't you SEE the irony ?

NewMummy48 · 26/06/2012 21:05

His comment was vile! I totally agree that he should have been kicked out of big brother there and then, They are being too kind to the housemates this year.

The housemates are brilliant but big brother needs to stir it up a bit :o

But yes, he shouldnt have even got a chance to say sorry or goodbye just called to the diary room and kicked out.

NewMummy48 · 26/06/2012 21:07

Also i do not believe that Deana is a drama queen, if you don't like something you would feel sick eating it, I do not understand why they have all suddenly "Ganged up" on her.

Mrsjay · 26/06/2012 21:08

I watched them going in then 1 when deana was crying i stopped watching after that, threatening somebody like that and isnt on ch5 should at least give him a warning ,

MrsTerryPratchett · 26/06/2012 21:15

NewMummy48 it's not about the food or the challenge or anything except group dynamics. I don't watch BB because it's shite but I know about group dynamics. Groups tend towards having scape goats because a common enemy is good for the cohesion of the group itself. Deanna AFAIK is Asian, female and failed a test. All things that work to make the group scape goat her. This stuff is so strong that when you facilitate groups you have to watch for it in the group and in yourself. Otherwise you too can be swept into the group dynamic. It is interesting to see, actually when it is being done for reasons other than purile entertainment.

If you watch BB, Hell's Kitchen or similar, it is frequently the women of colour this happens to. Also, white women who are seen as weak or stupid.

gottohide · 26/06/2012 21:19

I think at the very least he should have been put up for automatic nomination to face public wrath.

WorraLiberty · 26/06/2012 21:23

Yes I thought his comments were vile

I also think Deana is a Drama Queen and a snob

Actually, they're all a bunch of twats (for those who do not watch it) Grin

She wasn't scapegoated for being female or Asian by the way.

She's just a bit of a twat and will probably be voted out by the public unless she goes up against an even twattier twat (which is quite likely)

NewMummy48 · 26/06/2012 21:25

I totally agree with that and to be honest i do not enjoy watching situations like that happening. Thats why i think that he should be removed, it would be the right thing to do.

I guess that its about the ratings for channel 5 rather than doing the right thing. Angry

MrsTerryPratchett · 26/06/2012 21:33

I didn't say that she was scape-goated BECAUSE she is a woman of colour. It most certainly can happen to men and white people as well. Anyone in a group seen as 'other' is just more likely to be chosen by the group. Those terms, "drama queen" and "twat" also gendered BTW. It is rarely a white, straight, confident, physically attractive and strong person. Just saying...

Gettheetoanunnery · 26/06/2012 21:33

It was shocking! I thought he should have been booted out.

On a side note, I was once best friends with deana.

marathonrunner · 26/06/2012 21:34

I watched it on catchup as my mum wanted me to see it because she complained to OFCOM and wanted to see whether I thought her complaint was justified. For the record, I do think her complaint was justified.

What I couldn't understand was what they were all moaning about. Deana didn't lose them anything by not completing her task. All that happened was Conor has to choose the shopping by himself which presumably would have happened anyway. They were all acting like by her not completing her task they had been punished in some way by BB. Bunch of thicko's in my opinion and why I choose not to watch it.

Haven't watched it for years now but it is not acceptable to speak like that about anyone, he should go

darksideofthemooncup · 26/06/2012 21:37

He should definitely go, it was a vile thing to say.
