Channel five - so so amazing. I remember this so well. Her mother is going to talk about why she stopped seeing her :(

Poor girl it's amazing that she survived

ZuzuandZara · 14/06/2012 21:24

I feel so dreadfully sorry for the mum, but how could she abandon her baby Sad But then she had already moved out and left her with her dad, which is unusual.
Wasn't she a real cutie as a baby/toddler?

LaVitaBellissima · 14/06/2012 21:25

Just heartbreaking isn't it, what a great dad though Smile

ZuzuandZara · 14/06/2012 21:25

I wonder if mum and daughter will ever reconcile?

LaVitaBellissima · 14/06/2012 21:26

I missed the start though, how did the fire start?

ZuzuandZara · 14/06/2012 21:26

Yes, totally heartbreaking in so many ways.

habbibu · 14/06/2012 21:27

Extraordinary girl - the laughing toddler videos were lovely.

swearytramp · 14/06/2012 21:27

Her mum left a cigarette in terri's bedroom on the edge of a dresser and it set fire to the room :( That's why she feels so dreadful.

Mum had moved out as they had split up. Two months later she was baby sitting and went in to to Terris bedroom to settle her. Left a lit cigarette on the side in the bedroom as she left Sad Shock

magicOC · 14/06/2012 21:29

I too remember her, I think there was a documentary on her a while back??

I'm loving seeing how well she is doing now, and up to the usual teenage stuff Smile

I'm not prepared to pass judgement on her birth mother in any way, as only someone in those shoes can understand, but, I really find it hard to even contemplate turning my back on my child like that.

crazynanna · 14/06/2012 21:30

I was giggling along with her in the toddler videos! I feel so humble.

LaVitaBellissima · 14/06/2012 21:30

Sad that is just horrendous Sad

WithACherryOnTop · 14/06/2012 21:31

I'm watching it too. What an amazing girl she is. I remember watching her store on Extraordinary 10 year olds some years ago.Glad to see that she's doing so well now

LaVitaBellissima · 14/06/2012 21:34

And yes what a happy toddler Smile she seems to have grown into a happy and confident teenager, very inspiring Smile

magicOC · 14/06/2012 21:37

Brushing her teeth........ something we all take for granted.

ZuzuandZara · 14/06/2012 21:38

Her dad and step mum and fab aren't they?

She's got such a long road ahead, all of her life really with further operations.

Amazing child.

habbibu · 14/06/2012 21:39

Finding the subtitles quite annoying - she's as easy to understand as anyone else. Stepmother is ace.

LucieMay · 14/06/2012 21:40

What a gorgeous spirit she has and her dad in amazing! All those years on his own caring for her. Certainly makes me feel very grateful for having a healthy son as I can be prone to having a whinge about poor me I'm a single parent. Her step mum seems lovely too.

ZuzuandZara · 14/06/2012 21:41

Yeah agree habbibu.

ZuzuandZara · 14/06/2012 21:42

That's better!!

swearytramp · 14/06/2012 21:44

this is such an incredible programme. Totally puts everything into perspective. Her face when she got her hair...

magicOC · 14/06/2012 21:48

I have subtitles on at all times anyway as sometimes I find it hard to catch certain words ( bad ear), but, even i'm not using them tonight.

Zuzu, agreed they are lovely. I'm so glad he too has found happiness. Not many people would step into a relationship with those responsibilities.

habbibu · 14/06/2012 21:54

Man, she's really grown up. Hope she has hardcore stroppy teenager moments too!

ISpyPlumPie · 14/06/2012 21:54

I remember being incredibly moved by the original programme and full of admiration for her amazing dad. Didn't realise there was an update on. Does anyone know if it will be repeated? I'd like to watch the whole thing.

habbibu · 14/06/2012 21:55

Oh, bless - he probably is over protective - almost impossible for him not to be, I guess.
