Carole Malone-vilest remarks ever on TV?

gian67 · 16/05/2012 21:38

I couldn't believe what I was hearing watching Carole Malone's comments on This Morning about the terrible Philpot tragedy, ?who were bringing attention to themselves? and was ?an accident waiting to happen?

Ms Malone is an experienced journalist and commentator who knew exactly what she was saying.

Inappropriate, distasteful and insensitive, I would be ashamed to pay her fee for this appearance.

She's a nasty old subhuman and should be glued to her fecking loose --bladder- women stool and forced to watch herself talking shite on loop.

2shoes · 16/05/2012 22:32

I am glad I have no idea who this evil cow is, she needs sacking

Get0rfMoiLand · 16/05/2012 22:33

Nay it's not the Loose Woman ex of Chris Evans- that's Carole McGiffin.

Carole Malone has got a column in the EXpress or something and has hair like the uglier one out of Status Quo.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 16/05/2012 22:33

I watched the clip and I dont agree Porky.
She seemed very clear on what she thought.
SHE thought that people would be as disgusted as her, as hate filled as her. So disgusted and hate filled that they would pour petrol through this family's front door.
She has NO evidence that this is the case.
It has not crossed my mind that this could be the reason for the arson attack.
Why did it leap into hers so readily?

Because she thinks they only had themselves to blame? Because they really did deserve it?

She is foul.
Her remarks were not profund, useful, interesting or important. They did not need to be uttered and particularly not on the same day as the press conference by the bereaved parents.

washngo · 16/05/2012 22:34

How could anyone feel anything but overwhelming pity for the unbearable loss that those people have suffered? Some people simply shouldn't be given air time.

southeastastra · 16/05/2012 22:35

all women in tv take heed and shut the fuck up!

says mumsnetters who never have any opinion on anything

SuePurblybilt · 16/05/2012 22:37

Oh THAT one. She's a nasty old subhuman too Grin. My mistake, I can't watch YouTube clips.
I think my comment applied equally well to both though, and the punishment is fair.

CharltonHairstyle · 16/05/2012 22:38

Wow. 'An accident waiting to happen'?

She is a nasty piece of work, isn't she? Angry

fluffypillow · 16/05/2012 22:41

Vile woman. I can't stand her. Can't believe the comments she made. Children have died fgs. She should shut her nasty mouth.

TheFallenMadonna · 16/05/2012 22:46

SEA - what point are you making?

I don't suppose this sort of thing makes much impact when your 6 children have died. But it's pretty awful all the same.

But was she on there to talk about it? Because then, actually, the show is very much to blame.

MinnieBar · 16/05/2012 22:50

Ah that Carole - aka Polly Filla from Private Eye.

V unsisterly to say of anyone else in any other circs, but I she has those certain rather mannish post-menopausal facial features. Like she tweezes her facial hair a lot, y'know?

ThatVikRinA22 · 16/05/2012 22:53

how can she justify those sentiments? to herself or anyone else?

sometimes, peoples lack of basic human compassion leaves me reeling. This is one of those times.
is she a mother?

Get0rfMoiLand · 16/05/2012 22:56

I think there is a difference to a bunch of people chewing the fat (on MN) and someone writing a column in a national paper and going on the telly to spout views.

Plus I think anyone on MN who said such things would be flamed, and rightly so.

Did CM not voice these views to any colleagues or friends? Did nobody say 'fuck sake Carole what is wrong with you?' Or are people that cynical that they would say 'oh yes that is a converse view to all the mawkishness, that'll garner you a few column inches, look how Samantha Brick's profile has risen, it'll be good for your career'

TheCrackFox · 16/05/2012 22:59

6 children died because someone deliberately started a fire. How the he'll is that an accident waiting to happen?

What a cow.

slartybartfast · 16/05/2012 23:04

i agree with porkyandbess.
must have been a nutter involved in this.

CuriousMama · 16/05/2012 23:10

Shock No words!

Devora · 16/05/2012 23:12

What on earth did the parents do that justifies suggesting they have somehow earned having their six children murdered? Was it just being caught in possession of provocative working class-ness or is there something else I am missing?

Angry
slartybartfast · 16/05/2012 23:18

/but the Sun did previously call them Benefit Scroungers, and the media have a thing against large familes on benefits, and people who read that tend to believe that.
obviously it doesnt justify murdering them.

QuickLookBusy · 16/05/2012 23:21

She is the one woman on tv that I really cannot stand. She is utterly vile.

She's used this kind of argument before when talking about victims of press intrusion/ phone hacking etc. She truly believes that anyone who puts themselves in the public eye is fair game. No matter what.

To say what she did about this family is so disgusting. She doesn't seem to have an ounce of humanity in her body.

CuriousMama · 16/05/2012 23:32

She's in the public eye so is she fair game?

People as stupid as her should not be allowed to air their opinions on day time tv.

I also detest the Sun and Jeremy Vile. I feel sad for those with that sort of mentality.

QuickLookBusy · 16/05/2012 23:34

Have just looked her up on wiki. She had form surprise surprise.

She has been involved in several controversies including saying women who got raped whilst drink are partially responsible. She wrote a piece which angered residents in Cumbria after the Derrick Bird shootings and her newspaper had to apologise after she wrote that illegal immigrants get free cars.

She sounds seriously unhinged. Why is she allowed to voice her opinions on tv??

slartybartfast · 16/05/2012 23:39

if she writes for the express i dont spose she gets many readers.
that is weird paper

CuriousMama · 16/05/2012 23:40

No idea why QLB?

2shoes · 16/05/2012 23:40
