I have just read in the dm that the whole show is basically a massive money machine for Universal- and they had originally wanted LULU as a judge. The BBC declined (having already suffered the wee Scottish pixie on Strictly)

One of my friends, who has a HUGE crush on Danny, said to me yesterday 'wtf is he doing - why does he have to seek everyone else's opinion constantly'...so what is it with the 'are you going, I'll go if you go, are you going...'! Don't think he has totally understood that it would have been more beneficial for him if no-one else turned round since nobody has a clue who he is
