Is anyone watching Four in a Bed?

I've just got in to this - taping it to watch with the evening feed, how sad it that?! - and I want to talk about it with someone! Like this week's show, how awful is that Gordon? Such a nasty, personal comment to make ("its his new toy and he'll get bored soon") and to think it is a justified comment!

I'm not sure I'd want to stay at any of the hotels though... Grin

Agree wierdy theme pair are up themselves. They expected a four poster bed in a BnB?!!! And Spencers mum complaining a single bed was too small! They asked for a twin room! Aaargh. Looking forward to see tonights.

I love this programme Grin

If i came into some money i'd run a B&B!

Hated Gordon at first, he was an Oddbod, but he actually was a softie underneath and actually paid full price for everything other than the mouse room.

Spencer and his mum in Marple are quite funny. He's very monotonous in his delivery which makes me worry i might sound like that living near there - sort of Caroline Aherne's DH in the Royle family!

I didn't like Gordon and his shouty poems - I would have underpaid just because of them - and I thought he was rude, too. And I was utterly Shock at the lad complaining that he didn't want to be separated from his mum - that did seem very wierd - though it was also wierd that they hadn't automatically given his mum a room in the same hotel.

I loved the Spanish ones - apart from the Queens - I wouldn't touch that one with a bargepole!

I love the CDWM and 4iaB double bill. I record it and watch it whilst DH put DS to bed.

Sharpkat - I can't believe I've missed the full 4iaB tripadvisor/ google experience.

Anna seemed a good egg and I am glad that couple won.

Gordon made me feel queasy; it started with his beard .

I wonder what the participants think when they see the programme? For example, there's always someone who finds some dirt, and the owners always deny even the merest possibility of any dirt in their establishment - and we have always seen it on the footage. So, for example, I wonder if whassername who ran the Queens in Benidorm, felt slightly embarrassed when she saw the clump of hair etc that Anna and her other half found on the tray in their room.

An aftermath show would be grand.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 19/04/2012 09:36

Definitely. Which goes to prove what I have long believed - everything would be better if run by Mumsnetters. [wise]

I think a show where they go back maybe 6 months later to see if the owners haveapplied any of the comments to how they run the palce would be good

supernannyisace · 19/04/2012 10:12

OOh -I haven't watched any of this week's yet. I will catch up whilst ironing.

I really enjoy this show - although sometimes they are too picky over the small stuff.

Sharpkat · 19/04/2012 16:17

Eggrules - you have to check the trip advisor reviews every episode. Adds a whole new dynamic Grin

My Mum says that this is the last week it is in Ch 4 for the time being. Nevermind, I watch reruns on More 4 Grin

Eggrules · 19/04/2012 17:23

It all seems so obvious now. Marple B&B has some terrible reviews on TA - especially about Eileen. Themed hotel doesn't fair too well - at £200 a pop it should be perfect.

People don't understand the scoring system (best value) and rig it to win at all costs. £65 and £200 for bed and breakfast is like comparing apples to oranges. Expecting a four poster bed for £65 is utter madness.

I have never stayed at a B&B but would love to find one I fancy - Anna's in Spain looked fab (hmmm). I like the 3IAB US ones too - mad breakfast combinations for my taste.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 20/04/2012 10:03

What I don't get is why the some of the B&B owners don't go over the rooms with a fine toothcomb before the others arrive. I would vacuum and polish everything to within an inch of its life, check both sides of the mattress and behind and under every bit of furniture.

And I was totally gobsmacked that Fallowfields owners had had the room with the four poster repainted but the decorators hadn't moved the bed and painted behind it!! Epic fail. Can't wait for tonight and the post mortem.

CuriousMama · 20/04/2012 10:07

Yes I was shocked at the not painting behind the bed.

I'm not keen at all on the ones from Aphrodite.

Eggrules · 20/04/2012 10:17

All B&Bers should deep clean the 3 bedrooms to be used. The stained mattress was rank.

The four poster looked heavy but come on.
