I too love this series.
I think Jack's an odious character though - selfish, self-absorbed, no principles and content to live on his parents' handouts that were earned from the things he professes to despise e.g inherited wealth and Tory politics.
I think Charlie's an unsympathetic character too - lacking warmth and humanity and another one who doesn't reconcile her politics with her actions in her personal life.
Re Victor, I don't think I'd have much of a sense of humour either if I'd experienced the racism he was exposed to - and that is what life was like for young black men in that era.
Tamsin Greig is brilliant though as usual, but feel it's shame we haven't seen more of Juliet Stephenson.
Apart from the clothes, the continuity is very good and true to to the different eras e.g. care in the community, misogny, women having to have male permission for everyday rights, the 'sus' laws, IRA terrorism, the Thatcher disaster.
I''m going to miss this a lot.
