Can I be so bold as to start the OBEM thread and remind everyone it is on tomorrow as well?

I am excited as I will actually get to watch it and join in live on here instead of watching it on a Thursday morning and scrolling down the thread at the same time Grin.

Can you still move around with an epidural? Because a bit of gravity would help.

Dotty342kids · 04/04/2012 21:42

OMG, she's done it! Brilliant!

allnightlong · 04/04/2012 21:42

I wonder if a study has ever been done on if the epidural makes a woman more aware and uncomfortable during labour when so many people around.
I certainly would me compared to being more zoned out.

StarlightMcEggsie · 04/04/2012 21:42

Well you can't really move, but you can be moved. Epidural doesn't mean you can't be upright.

nogastoday · 04/04/2012 21:43

fantastic! Grin

allnightlong · 04/04/2012 21:43

Nog no you can't feel you legs or lower waist.

Yes, there is evidence that some of the natural hormones don't kick in so well.

sairygamp · 04/04/2012 21:44

Cried for the first time in this entire series when isla was born

allnightlong · 04/04/2012 21:46

I was think I'd be so much more inhibited had I been pain free and clear headed. Where as with the pain I didn't give two hoots when usually I'm fairly private.

RobinSparkles · 04/04/2012 21:46

Wow, this thread is quiet tonight! Is no one watching anymore? I usually can't keep up.

ShowMethePony · 04/04/2012 21:47

You can get, what is it called - a walking epidural or something? So you are supposed to still be able to move and feel a bit of contractions. Never had one but they told us about it in antenatal classes as less restricting than a normal epidural.

HepHep · 04/04/2012 21:48

It is very quiet tonight, innit...

oooggs · 04/04/2012 21:48

Yes it is quiet! Something on the otherwise?

ShowMethePony · 04/04/2012 21:48

Bet they are all watching the Apprentice.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 04/04/2012 21:49

I am here. Soz for being late.

I like that mixed race girl. She is very pretty. Nice family.

I am glad I am not the only one who was like Hmm at 'its the only way' . I had that said to me a few times.

HepHep · 04/04/2012 21:49

I had a mobile epidural, ShowMe Couldn't walk but could sort of kneel a bit. Midwife said I'd probably fall over if I tried walking Grin

allnightlong · 04/04/2012 21:49

O,g the woggles in the birthing pool. Grin

choux · 04/04/2012 21:50

Dotty342kids · 04/04/2012 21:51

Lovely family, the dad of that one is really missing out.

HepHep · 04/04/2012 21:51

Foam pool noodles, is that what they are? Like long thin wotsits

HepHep · 04/04/2012 21:52

I hope the Dad is watching this feeling like a twat...

ShowMethePony · 04/04/2012 21:52

Don't think they should be saying that to her about the rush of love when you first hold them, not everyone gets it.

Dotty342kids · 04/04/2012 21:54

Agree, showmethepony, I didn't get that feeling and think you can be made to feel like a bad mum for not feeling that way!

allnightlong · 04/04/2012 21:54

Hep yes they are for kids swimming lessons. Maybe they were on their way to a lesson and thought ah well have a water birth might be handy.
