enjoying this. The scene tonight with the mother and daughter at the end was so touching, nearly had me in tears! Will be watching with interest.

I watched it too. I didn't see it last week but got the gist. Agree about the mum and dd Smile Can see a romance blossoming at the dog shelter? Wink

I thought the acting was great.

MorrisZapp · 05/04/2012 11:53

Really enjoyed this, and more interesting plotlines heavily flagged up for future eps.

Have to have a gentle laugh though at the lovely Joanna Page. Her character is Welsh, living in Leeds. She's the James Nesbitt of Wales, a charming but one note actor!

Mrsjay · 05/04/2012 12:19

I lenjoyed it and yes there is going to be a romance with dog shelter man Smile , I dont know if the lads involved in the robbery will be caught, Joanna page is lovely im not sure she can do other accents though , i reckon she has run away from an ex partner thats why she is in leeds ,

CuriousMama · 05/04/2012 13:29

Yes Mrsjay I think she's hiding from an ex too.

babysbreath · 05/04/2012 13:41

I am enjoying this programme, easy watching.

I saw Joanne Page being interviewed and she was saying that each week a character will be highlighted. The first week it was the chap with the blonde girlfriend who he has a child by and another one on the way. Then this week it was the lady who has her mother living with her. Next week, I think, it will be Timothy Spall. Joanne Page did say in her interview that her character will be the last story to be aired.

Also, Joanne said before she went for the audition, she was trying to get to grips with the Leeds accent, and then when she went to the audition they said that they wanted her to play a Welsh lady who is now living in Leeds.

So I reckon she is running away from an ex.

FrillyMilly · 05/04/2012 21:00

I'm really enjoying it too. I think she's on the run from someone too as she was reluctant about the publicity and she has changed her name.

Makes me feel a bit old seeing Neville Longbottom as an adult!

FlouncyMcFlouncer · 05/04/2012 22:40

It's written by Kay Mellor and a lot of her dramas follow the same pattern, of focussing on one character each week. I'm enjoying this one.

Anyone remember Fat Friends? That was the first time I saw James Corden on screen and his characters episode brought me to tears. He's been called a one trick pony since, but I will always remember him in Fat Friends.

And THANKYOU, I've been trying to work out where I'd seen 'Neville' before! DOH!

MorrisZapp · 06/04/2012 11:15

Neville?

FrillyMilly · 06/04/2012 16:31

The younger brother who committed the robbery (Jamie?) is played by the actor who was Neville Longbottom in Harry Potter. He used to look like this.

Just about to watch the second episode where Denise plans surgery to keep her husband.

Save your money, girl! A toothbrush costs less than a quid.

limitedperiodonly · 06/04/2012 22:57

Loving your teeth, Denise. Keep that Bedlington terrier and all your winnings.

lostboysfallin · 11/04/2012 11:14

Loving this, saved it up.
Every episode has made me cry

cocolepew · 18/04/2012 12:23

Tonights was a tear jerker! Do you think they'll take Stacey off her?

gagafan · 18/04/2012 17:42

Nice to see Leanne's back story - not entirely sure that it could really happen though in rL. I thought that once addict's had there children adopted from birth that only very infrequent visitation could take place, never mind taking the child off the adoptive parent. Correct me if I'm wrong (anyone). But this just seems too far fetched in my opinion. but enjoyed it just the same.

FrillyMilly · 19/04/2012 10:17

She was the foster mum. The hearing to see if they could adopt her hadn't happened yet.

Yorkshiremother79 · 19/04/2012 11:49

I am going to miss this so much after the last one next week! Love it!
I really hope there's a happy ending...

ripsishere · 19/04/2012 13:42

I love this, not keen on Leah/nne now though. I understand what and why but she seems really hard faced.
The best thing about this series is DD can watch it.
Really hope Tim Spalls character recovers.

Davros · 19/04/2012 17:49

I love it but I agree that Leanne's story was a bit weak, I thought it was the "least good" one so far. Still enjoyed it a lot though.

ripsishere · 20/04/2012 06:48

and, while I'm being Ms Picky from Pickington, why are they still working?

KenDoddsDadsDog · 20/04/2012 06:52

They said they were going to work until the store closed .
Love this , reckon the last episode will be brilliant.

ripsishere · 20/04/2012 06:56

But is it realisitic? I know I'd be out the door of that place before Camelot had confirmed the numbers.
Although, if the lovely Tim Spall was my boss, maybe not.

MoreCatsThanKids · 23/04/2012 14:32

Love this programme!

Can't see how we can have a 'happy' ending tho' 'cos they can't get away with the robbery can they? Mathew Lewis character doesn't deserve to any way (was it him in the pool with Stuarts partner?)

Hope Tim Spalls character will servive - am I asking for too much?

DD and I watch this together - she's got Mathew Lewis autograph - we saw him in a play last year (he was awful :))

Looking forward to tomorrow Blush

mrswobblebottom · 24/04/2012 22:06

That's a surprise - no happy endings then!

mopbucket · 24/04/2012 22:09

Sad ending
But a great story

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 24/04/2012 22:10

Is that the end, or is there another episode?
