It's back on TV (Sky). Is it really sad to admit loving it?

When is it on?

Tabliope · 18/03/2012 20:00

It started at 7pm on True Entertainment. Just checking to see if there is a True Entertainment + 1 starting now. It was the very first episode. They're so young looking.

Oh.oh.oh!

Hassled · 18/03/2012 20:02

It may be mother's day but I'm trapped in a Hitchhiker's Guide nightmare and am outnumbered. Dammit to hell. Mary was soooo pretty - I wanted to be Mary.

Tabliope · 18/03/2012 20:04

Sorry it started at 6pm so was 2 hours long! I watched it earlier today but have just caught the end of it. I was so engrossed I didn't realise how long it was. Just checking the A-Z to see if it's on again. Laura looks about 8, Mary about 9, Carrie about 3 so the very beginning when they build the cabin and the Indians come round.

I'm getting all confused the Sky A-Z says it's on tomorrow at 12 and at 6pm so maybe it is just an hour.

am going to look to see if I can get it on my freeview box...
I wanted to marry Charles Ingles...

Tabliope · 18/03/2012 20:06

I wanted to look like Mary but with Laura's personality. My cousin was a complete Nellie.

I always wanted to go up a wooden ladder to bed. Grin

Tabliope · 18/03/2012 20:11

As far as I can tell the Pilot is on tomorrow at 12 midday then at 6pm it's the next episode. Sorry to confuse everyone. The first one is great as you see them travel to the prairie, build the log cabin and go through the first winter.

Some episodes seem to be on www.tv-links.eu (go alphabetical and it has the pilot down but I haven't tried it out to see if it works).

The TV series got me reading the books when I was young.

DD has started reading the books first, I'm going to record the series for her, I never knew it was on so thank you. Smile

I've just finished reading a Laura Ingalls Wilder Biography, it's sad Charles Ingalls direct line died out.

Tabliope · 18/03/2012 20:17

The tv-link.eu site says there were 9 series with about 20-30 episodes in each... that's my telly watching sorted out for the next few weeks :)

manky - how lovely your DD will be seeing the series for the first time. I hope she enjoys it.

mankyscotslass · 18/03/2012 20:25

Me too - I plan to make it a bit of a mum/dd thing, but I tried that with Dr who and she wasn't having it at all...Grin

Tabliope · 18/03/2012 20:36

manky - I;m rewatching the Waltons at the moment and tried to get my teenage DS interested - fat chance (what on earth was I thinking!?). Hope you can get your DD to sit down and watch Little House with you :)

I wanted to marry Almonso.

mankyscotslass · 18/03/2012 21:04

I love re watching The Waltons too!

DH is not impressed!

YouChangeWithTheWeather · 18/03/2012 21:15

I have V+'d it.

AmIthatbad · 18/03/2012 22:00

ooooooohhhh am so excited and agree with all of the posts. Almonso was one of my first real crushes. And I wanted to fish in Plum Creek and go to school and be taught by Miss Beadle.

dreamingbohemian · 18/03/2012 22:13

So go on, what were everyone's fave episodes? Smile

I liked all the plague ones, where some totally old school disease whips through the town and various characters teeter between life and death and it was always soooo suspenseful who would make it or not.

And any episode where Laura gets over on Nellie.

invicta · 19/03/2012 17:15

If I had a girl, I would have named her Laura after Little House on the Prairie.

LadyInPink · 19/03/2012 17:21

I have borrowed the whole set from a friend and am just starting series 9. My DD loves them too and it's our treat when DH is not around Smile It's taken me over a year to watch 1-8 but i'm nearly there.

I hated the plague episodes, so dull and maudlin. I loved the Nellie and Nancy episodes best and Mary at the blind school meeting Adam for the first time

FiteFuaite · 19/03/2012 17:25

Arf @ 'My cousin was a complete Nellie' Grin Grin

My favourite episode was when Nellie pretended to have been injured by Laura and couldn't walk, and when Laura found out that she was pretending took Nellie for a walk and pushed her and her wheelchair down a hill Grin

I caught The Waltons this week on tv but nothing compares to LHOTP :)

Sparklingbrook · 19/03/2012 17:26

Did one of the girls go blind a bit later on?

FiteFuaite · 19/03/2012 17:28

Oh and I also loved the ep where Zaldamo ;) first appeared, that made me cry a little bit :) And where Mary lost her sight and she was in the doctor's thinking it was coming back but it wasn't :(

So,so loved the books,too.Re-read them last summer,actually

FiteFuaite · 19/03/2012 17:33

Mary meeting Adam for the first time!! That was a goodie, too,Ladyinpink :)

Was that the one with Go Tell it on the Mountain? I remember singing that at school the following day and writing out the words for my friends Grin
