I'm Sky + ing it !

limitedperiodonly · 17/02/2012 12:37

Same as redlac.

Steven Mackintosh is a good actor but his resemblance to Ian Beale means that we could never be together.

redlac · 17/02/2012 13:04

No no no Limited don't put that image in my head!

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 17/02/2012 15:30

It's surprisingly good, isn't it? Twisty and turny. I like the slightly dingy, 'prefab' feel of a lot of the sets/locations and the contrast between the monotony and petty bureaucracy of the counting house contrasted with the dastardly plot.

I've watched the first three now and still don't know how it's going to unfold. Good stuff. Great acting too.

Davros · 17/02/2012 16:12

Love it! I thought it would be an entertaining potboiler but its much better than that.

sobenobu · 17/02/2012 20:38

A surprising find one night, but am loving it now.

Nice to see a bit of Asher D after Top Boy and now can't get the Ian Beale with Ruth Evershed connection out of my head!!!

HappyAsEyeAm · 17/02/2012 21:35

Loving it, but only ever watch it on catch up as DH always seems to find saomething that he desperately wants to watch on anotehr channel when its on.

limitedperiodonly · 17/02/2012 23:21

I think Ian Beale is intending to set them all up.

Proviso: Have watched only two episodes so far and am rubbish at guessing the ends of things except for The Sixth Sense which, let's face it, wouldn't fool a child.

Snowsister · 20/02/2012 15:11

Seen the 3 and am enjoying it immensely.

Ashley is excellent, they all are. Have no idea what the twist will be although we were Grin at the boxed money being kept in a completely unguarded shed..

KurriKurri · 20/02/2012 15:17

I'm loving this - no idea how it's going to end up. Stephen McKintosh is really good, he's playing the 'looks like a total wet, but is he?' thing so well.

Also love the woman playing his wife - what have I seen her in before? she looks familiar.

was fooled by sixth sense Blush

basildonbond · 20/02/2012 22:09

she's Ruth from Spooks!

FYP · 23/02/2012 17:29

Last one tonight!

Jacaqueen · 23/02/2012 18:22

I found the first episode a bit confusing but have really enjoyed it.

owlelf · 23/02/2012 22:06

I've loved this series but didn't 'get' the ending? Why did he load the campervan with cash and drive into the money storage place?

He said he wanted to stop being afraid of everything- but he's just condemned himself to a very very king stint in prison Hmm, Confused, Blush.

Have I missed the point?

floweryblue · 23/02/2012 22:09

I have just come on this thread in the hope someone can explain the end to me!

HumphreysCorner · 23/02/2012 22:10

Me too!

floweryblue · 23/02/2012 22:13

He didn't take back all the money coz the cute one and his wife went off with some. Where did the manager's wife end up? And what was meant to be paid to all the gangster types?

HumphreysCorner · 23/02/2012 22:19

So, the one with the baby and the one that zoomed off with his wife (plus some dosh) will get off due to the one with the baby reporting the robbery to the police before it happened. But there is no way John can just drive in with a campervan full of money and get away with it. Did the black security van behind him carry the rest of the money?

DH said that he probably always planned to give it back and only planned the robbery to prove he wasn't a wet lettuce. Has he kept some money though as the police wouldn't be able to check the amount returned. Will John's wife want him back if he is found innocent.

Aaargghhh!!!

owlelf · 23/02/2012 22:23

I thought the main manager left loads of boxes of cash behind. But I guess it might have been a gesture of returning the cash Hmm, Confused.

His wife was innocent so I think she would have carried without him and with the sadness of what he had done hanging over her.

I'm also unclear as to what the other guy and his wide were doing. He said he was taking a couple of days to plan their story and then would turn himself in- but he had a few million in his car boot?!

Also, why didn't the police have the whole place under surveillance do they could catch the thieves as soon as the robbery began? They knew it was on the cards- surely with so much cash at stake they would have taken it very very seriously.

I am a bit Biscuit at all the loose ends in the plot.

jollydiane · 23/02/2012 22:24

Very odd ending. I think he wanted to prove that he was 'man' enough to carry it out. Perhaps he might try and implicate the new 'women' boss. He did say that "I am more ruthless than you can imagine".

owlelf · 23/02/2012 22:27

humphrey I can't see how John could be found innocent though? Even if he returned the cash he is still guilty if a very serious crime. Or have I missed something?

Why couldn't the police check how much money he returned?

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 23/02/2012 22:36

not a satisfying ending... agree about the loose ends. [annoyed]

owlelf · 23/02/2012 22:45
