Pathan, the child's problems are genetic in origin and with middle class educated and pushy parents children like that rarely catch up.

He's trying to get his dad to respond. Poor boy.

Lots can be done for the little boy but it depends on the consistancy of care he gets from now on.

I very much doubt he will ever be on a par with his peers though.

Are the parents literate? If not then tackle that.

The mum looks depressed. Offer counselling/Prozac/both.

If the dad was never parently adequately, he has no idea how to parent adequately himself. He just has no idea what he should be doing.

My DS was born in that hospital!

That newborn is going to need a lot of care.

I am so relieved they have split up, she is much more likely to be a good mum without him!

Poor Tiffany, she does have some insight, just not the skills.

Tiffany needs support. I think she knows what she needs to do but is overwhelmed.
