Katherine Kelly on BBC Breakfast this morning (Thurs). She has filmed her last scenes, so Becky is really off.

Pity (much, much prefer her to Tracey).

I prefer Becky too. Do we actually know that Tyrone's GF is in the police though, have we seen her in uniform? They are setting her up nicely for a fatal attraction-type storyline.

I really want the Doctor's to have got it wrong about Becky and she conceived a baby...she was a loving Mother to Amy and Max. I felt so sorry fior Becky when they left her.

Becky will be on-screen until some time in January, but as she's no longer filming (and going off to a part in "She Stoops to Conquer"), I doubt we can possibly see a pregnancy storyline for her. Which is a pity, as I would have like to see her ensconced in the Rovers, with a baby of her own.

The Max storyline was badly fumbled; Kylie's "reference" was a factor in the ruling they were unsuitable to adopt. She could have provided a new reference, on the basis of a good Max story-line ie not a sudden one, with people just shrieking the same stuff over and over again; rather than one which actually grew, saw Kylie participate in his life and act in his best interests; not flounce around like a madam. Kylie has been shown capable of the slower growing character development (it's a reason why I quite take to her), but they badly sold her short with the Becky and Max stuff.

I hope they keep her on the slower trajectory, and not give her any more sudden and over-histrionic plots.

Gail must have a massive house, having all those people living there. Im really missing Audrey, where is she?

it must be a very small 4 bedroom as the downstairs is so pokey. I suppose one room is over the garage or maybe Max shares with sex mad Kylie and David poor child

I also think the Owens' pond paves the way for a Max almost drowning storyline or Kevins' Son when older.

I was relieved that the ponds goldfish were kept alive, David isn't so evil afterall, although it is very hard to admit.

Owen was nasty to the poor fish though - did you clock the unsuitable way he released them; tipping then out unacclimatised, straight from the plastic bag.

Did anyone else think how out of character the spat between Rita and Emily was last night? Two elderly respectable ladies suddenly morphing into nasty bitches with each other. Didn't seem right to me at all - bad scripting.

Rita can be snappy, but Emily just isn't, ever.

It's a work up to a constitute Christmas dinner bake-off. It would have been better between Rita and someone else - perhaps Sheila? With Emily and Roy and Hayley as worried bystanders. and Mary as a bizarre chorus. That would have been good Corrie. I agree that this looks thin and forced so far.

ajandjjmum - i agree it was very out of character. Emily's catbumface about the roast pots being comment was spot on.

Sheila is Roy's mother < looks round worriedly - I have got the name right, haven't I? > and grand battle-axe in the making. Hence a good sparring partner. And plenty of third parties around to contain the bad feeling. If you added Norris and Mary as a kind of Greek chorus, it would have been a brilliant scenario.

But with Emily; not promising, unfortunately.

Katie's baby and the elves seems the best of a bad bunch of story lines.
