I watched it. I just said to dh harry hill will have a field day with that scene. Sounded like someone was deflating a balloon.

planetpotty · 09/12/2011 21:09

Grin he so will!

If I was Leanne, Carla's pad would be the first place I would look Hmm

It was like someone deflating bagpipes.

planetpotty · 09/12/2011 21:24

Imagine how bad his breath would have been Shock fags and booze for the best part of the day - mmmmm yummy!

I dislike this storyline so much.

I hope this means it will soon be over.

And talking of bad storylines - where's Tracey at the moment? The way characters vanish periodically is realky annoying.

Dee03 · 09/12/2011 22:32

Can't stand tyronne's new gf......what's her problem!!!!!!

EdithWeston · 09/12/2011 22:36

Dee03: I agree. She's getting unpleasantly weird. Which is a pity. I'd much rather see Tyrone with a happy storyline (buy out Kevin, get back with Maria).

Dee03 · 09/12/2011 22:40

And I don't like Faye either....or Leanne, the miserable cow Grin

idealism · 09/12/2011 22:42

i think peter and carla are good together - leanne is a right whinger. Can't stand ty's new lady either... she'll cause trouble then leave i expect!

daenerysstormborn · 09/12/2011 22:45

is tyrone's girlfriend going to turn out to be a psycho?

RetroMuff · 09/12/2011 22:47

I had to turn the sound down - and I thought about the smelly breath too!

Dee03 · 09/12/2011 22:56

Infact I'm a bit bored of all the soaps at the mo Sad

EdithWeston · 09/12/2011 23:05

Corrie has gone badly downhill. I'm only watching now out of habit.

The writing is not what is was, and the rhythm of the story lines has been ruined (too abrupt, too episodic). The little bits and pieces that used to glue it together have gone (last few episodes, all Sophie/Sian - now they've vanished again, Tracey vanished, Becky vanished, Maria vanished, Rosie and Jason vanished, Audrey vanished, Julie and Brian vanished, Roy Hayley and Sheila vanished, Sean and Marcus vanished, Eileen vanished (why isn't she helping Lloyd in Steve's absence?)

KenDoddsDadsDog · 10/12/2011 06:31

The Peter and Carla thing is very lazy scriptwriting IMO

GwendolineMaryLacedwithBrandy · 10/12/2011 07:33

I don't know about the snogging but why the actual fuck doesn't that Carla put some bloody lights on or open her curtains? Her flat is like coaley's hole.

sailorsgal · 10/12/2011 07:47

She did tell him to brush his teeth when he went into the bathroom. Did she have a new toothbrush in there? Grin

javo · 10/12/2011 12:12

I think Carla and Peter look much better as a couple than Peter and Leanne- seem to have more chemistry. Perky (ex drug addict, prostitute and arsonist) Leanne annoys me. But I don't get Peter's sudden change of heart over Carla.

Did anyone else notice the string of saliva joining their mouths that snapped after Peter and Carla kissed - YUK!

theliverpoolone · 10/12/2011 12:21

but Leanne has a good relationship with Simon - I don't see Carla as good stepmum material, somehow! Am very disappointed in Peter - don't think the scriptwriters have got this one right, as they've portrayed him as a committed dad up to now.

scaevola · 10/12/2011 13:06

The suddenness of the change of heart is deeply unconvincing, and is a sign of lazy thinking/planning. Pity.

Javo Ewwwww at the stringy saliva boak, urgh, yuk.....can they not airbrush that sort of thing out nowadays - seriously!

Would Carla really not be thinking...hang on he's full of vodka, he may not be talking sense here? I think she's just so desperate to have him, and maybe once she has him will drop him like a hot potato once something, richer, better looking comes along?? Actually quite like Carla sometimes but hate this constantly trying to nick Peter from Leanne (her supposed friend Hmm).

Definitely right about the fact that Corrie feels a bit wierd at the moment and agree the pace and in and outness of the carachters is a bit off putting. Even DH has noticed it, last night he was like, "well where the bloody hell is Simon?"

thegirlwithnoname · 10/12/2011 22:51

Hasn't Tracey gone on holiday with Steve?
Someone posted on here the other day that they was friends with Ali King (or was it her sister) and she had said that, as much as she liked Chris Gascoyne (peter) he was very short and only came up to her boobs. Unfortunately now when ever they are shown on together on Corrie now, I pml.

LineRunnerCrouchingReindeer · 11/12/2011 13:07

EdithWeston, your analysis of the disjointed plotting is spot-on. It was always the lovely meandering narratives that meant that we regularly saw the sublime acting and plotting involving Norris, Rita, Mary, Emily, Audrey et al that made Corrie a real joy.

And the thought that attractive intelligent businesswoman Carla would hurl herself at the former-jalibird-bigamist addict Peter Barlow is risible.

planetpotty · 11/12/2011 17:21

Linerunner could it be a classic case of wanting what you can't have? I really think she will get him then do a number on him within weeks.
