One episode watched - I am hooked! Anyone else watching?

OP posts:
purpleturtletoise · 16/11/2011 21:48

Yes! Enjoyed that, all set for ep 2

Caz10 · 16/11/2011 21:51

Noooo I thought it was terrible! Although in a "so bad I can't stop watching it" way.

chocoroo · 16/11/2011 21:54

I'm loving it. And Donna from Neighbours is in it. Awesomes.

bridgeandbow · 16/11/2011 21:57

Mnn not sure - it is trying very hard to emulate Mad Men (but failing).

The massive use of CGI makes if feel very unreal.

Is it meant to be spoof - it feels like is!

SazZandASparkler · 16/11/2011 22:03

Yes - Not sure whether hooked as yet, but watching the second one!

JennyPiccolo · 16/11/2011 22:24

i like it!

Gigondas · 16/11/2011 22:25

Yep - I am not sure stories or plot lines are quite up to mad men but looks fab and am hooked - it could fill the brothers And sisters niche.

hermionestranger · 16/11/2011 22:27

love it. Of course being about the "glory days" of my line of work is keeping my hooked. Bloody fabulous uniforms.

Gigondas · 16/11/2011 22:29

Costumes full stop are amazing

AitchTwoOh · 16/11/2011 22:29

it is completely awful, i think. (that said, have watched six eps of it).
but still, utter keech.

Gigondas · 16/11/2011 22:41

But that's exactly what I like about it - no real brain engagement required

noddyholder · 16/11/2011 22:51

Slow start but after about half an hour I was hooked!

Jahan · 16/11/2011 22:52

I liked it. It's a tad claustrphobic how the stewardesses and pilots keep bumping into each other all over the place.
It's very unrealistic but fab telly.

JennyPiccolo · 16/11/2011 22:52

I needed a vacuous-tellybox replacement for the soon to be defunct Desperate Housewives.

AitchTwoOh · 16/11/2011 23:01

no, honestly... nothing happens. nothing.

slalomsuki · 17/11/2011 08:48

I quite liked it, no thinking, no convoluted plot and no adverts. Thought it was quite realistic from what I have seen when travelling.

No I am not that old!

kplondon · 17/11/2011 13:24

I thought it was a poor man's Mad Men. Never mind the lack of subtlety (the bride's Thelma-and-Louise style escape comes to mind), but the attention to detail is lacking. The men look like blokes you would see in middle America today at any shopping mall. Bridget's hair looks much too modern. I'll watch a couple more episodes but I'm disappointed so far.

sailorsgal · 17/11/2011 14:42

Dane is rarther young to be a captain don't you think.

Its a bit cheesy but I quite liked it. Thought it was hilarious that they were weighed before they got on the plane and checked that they were wearing a girdle!

If only flying was like that these days, I would do it more often. Grin

SparklyRedShoes · 17/11/2011 19:40

Agree it is a poor imitation of Mad Men and completely lacking in sutlety. Don't feel inspired to give it a second watch

ilovemydogandMrObama · 17/11/2011 19:42

love it. am feeding dd2 at crazy hours and its perfect Grin

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 17/11/2011 20:54

I've never seen Mad Men so nothing to compare it with, I've only watched the first episode so far but will try the second one tonight. I enjoyed it but was looking for it to be a bit more complicated. I love the blue uniforms, my favourite colour

bridgeandbow · 17/11/2011 21:52

Whoknows - you should really watch Madmen! Get it on DVD for Xmas or Love film - is fab!

MelinaM · 18/11/2011 00:06

It is indeed a poor relation to Mad Men, but, hey there's nothing else on TV so why the devil not I say! I loved the way they tried to pass of those clunky steps in Central Park as Paris!!! Grin The CGI is very irritating too I agree!

Is Laura the same girl that was in Neighbours? ...I think her character was Donna? Hmm

katkitya · 18/11/2011 18:16

When is our Mad Men coming back? Hmm

MelinaM · 18/11/2011 21:14

I think it's on Sky in the new year ...no longer on BBC4Sad
