Don't usually watch this but cannot believe that her cushion with the roadkill 'hare' on it won first prize, much less 'best in show'! FIX!

I know, what a fix! Mind you, the alpaca cushion and '3d item' were pretty bizarre....

What I really hated was the way she pronounced 'Naomi' and 'Nyermi', though!

azazello · 03/11/2011 14:03

Total fix. Her cake won last week as well. No doubt her flower arrangement will suddenly come together and will win best in the universe ever next week - but I won't be watching.

belledechocchipcookie · 03/11/2011 14:10

I don't think the other entrants have an 'expert' showing them what to do. It's all bollocks.

minko · 03/11/2011 14:21

I have gone right off her and her patronising matronly manner. Am going to boycott Location, Location too.

fix fix fix!

I would be fuming if I had entered the show for real.

I hate these programmes that imply that celebrities are another breed of people who are just better at everything than normal people.

Oh yes... we've not had a Pedlar's thread in ages!

MelinaM · 03/11/2011 14:46

Her cakes may have won, but her card making skill didn't get her anywhere last week so I don't believe that it is a fix at all!!!! I think the judges appreciated the simplicity of her cushion and the fact that is was a traditional piece, and not 'out there' like most of the other entrants offeringsGrin

Raahh · 03/11/2011 14:52

I do love Kirsty- but this was a fix, anonymous voting my arse. But she didn't win anything at the Welsh show last week (the cakes were the week before). There she was utterly mortified that her crap embroidered card, and rings made out of old books didn't win anything. I fact, she was very sore loser about it all. (I will admit i was secretly pleased!)

Her cushion was rubbish- there were sooooo many better things on show(I liked the little girl's alpaca wool dog!)

ElderberrySyrup · 03/11/2011 14:53

I do think the judges might have picked up a tiny clue which one was Kirsty's entry from the way the camera crew will have hovered around them when they were judging it....

SansaLannister · 03/11/2011 14:58

Her lousy cake won, too.

Totally rigged.

SootySweepandSue · 03/11/2011 14:59

I would love this show if it was presented by someone else.

Location, location makes me want to scream. I actually wrote in to C4 to say that it was sickening how unsympathetic that show is wrt the financial/property crisis. Give up Kirsty we've had enough!

NormanTebbit · 03/11/2011 15:00

Don't you have your 'Forever Home'?

MintAero · 03/11/2011 15:02

Bet she has none of this 'shite' in her own home.

needshelpwitheveryday · 03/11/2011 15:07

I want her to make something that you could actually use/ want.

Hare cushion - random embroidered cards. I watched the full Homemade home series thinking yeah this will be fun but unless you have a friend with a glass making factory/ jewelery shop you are right out of luck.

I honestly dont care if it wins best in show...or best random paper ring (who would EVER WEAR IT).

SootySweepandSue · 03/11/2011 15:16

Yes it was the 'forever home' couple down in Surrey that made me particularly mad. I missed the start so I didn't see how they managed to finance their £800k home by their mid 30s...The bloke was positively creaming himself about how envious their friends would be of their fireplace. What a tosser and shame on C4 for bringing us this shite.

SootySweepandSue · 03/11/2011 15:17

Has anyone seen her range of stuff in M&S??? Whatcha bet it's all made in China...

noddyholder · 03/11/2011 15:19

Its a bit Recession? What recession?

SansaLannister · 03/11/2011 15:24

I wonder how much the other contestants were paid to keep smiling.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 03/11/2011 15:25

That cushion was bland and dull - I agree the little girl's dog should have won - full of quirky character. And the big fuss she made about stitching on that bloody hare! Looked amateurish and not in a charming way.

Noticed one of the judges described it as 'naif'. Yeah, right.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 03/11/2011 15:25

I thought she might make a speech, like when she won the cake. Er no one else made a speech, Kirstie - not compulsory.
Someone must have held her back.

Tigresswoods · 03/11/2011 15:27

LOVE the title of this thread

Grin
DaveGhoulsgirl · 03/11/2011 15:31

My friend was there and entered the competition.....he is not bitter and said there was some pretty amazing stuff.....will ask if he thought it was rigged Grin all of us thought he should have won

ElderberrySyrup · 03/11/2011 16:04

ooh was he the beardy cross stitch man?

DaveGhoulsgirl · 03/11/2011 16:54

Yes!!!!
He's a FAB bloke does loads of "different" styles of cross stitch...some of them almost like graffiti style
