Soooooooooooooo I still reckon Cora to kick the bucket, shuffle of this mortal coil, sing with the choir eternal etc etc

I bet Jane is handy with a shorehorn for Lord 6, he's been out of action for a while so may need some help.

matty to run off with Thomas.

Caoimhe · 06/11/2011 22:35

Argh, hated the shit with Matthew and Mary at the graveside - "we are cursed" - blah, blah, blah. Really disappointed with this episode!

ScatterChasse · 06/11/2011 22:40

Except it wasn't noble, more a bit sort of...whingey.

It's a bad do when Sir Richard seems a better gentleman!

notnowImreading · 06/11/2011 22:40

Just checked age difference between Anna and Bates: 17 years. She looks older than 30, I think.

BoffinMum · 06/11/2011 22:42

I only watch it for Violet.
I have met Dame Maggie in person, donchaknow. And we have exchanged kisses. Love that actress.

Lua · 06/11/2011 22:42

He looks older than 47!

AKMD · 06/11/2011 22:43

So what happens if Mary dies of a broken heart in the Christmas special? Matthew to jump in the lake in memory of their love? He gets a hamster for company?

PamBeesly · 06/11/2011 22:43

Boffin you kissed Violet 17 years? Just looking at them in the bed together she looked waaaay younger than 30 to his 47

LadyHarrietDeSpook · 06/11/2011 22:44

well, I will be personally writing to aviva about this horrible ending to the series.

Bossybritches22 · 06/11/2011 22:50

Georgina I did too, shall we start the

"Downton was Tosh but We Loved It Thread" ?

ScatterChasse · 06/11/2011 22:53

Oh, and really dodgy camera work tonight.

Was that meant to be audience participation, so we all felt as dizzy as Mary did while she kissed Matthew?

GeorginaWorsley · 06/11/2011 23:07

Nothing to beat it,Bossy.
Cannot wait until Xmas special, and thread Grin
Glad Lord G gave Sybil and Branson his blessing
Violet pragmatic as always!.

CJCregg · 06/11/2011 23:07

PMSL at you lot. I was watching it on catch up so didn't want to follow the thread, but all through it all I could think of was the fucking peach bedspread and how you'd all be reacting Grin

V annoyed by the Matthew/Mary stupidness. Lavinia said 'be happy', didn't she? Chuh.

GeorginaWorsley · 06/11/2011 23:09

He will be happy.come the xmas specialGrin

BoffinMum · 06/11/2011 23:17

No tongues.

I have loved her since the Praim of Miss Jean Brawdie.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 06/11/2011 23:18

That maid is going to be pregnant and she's going to have the new 'heir' to Downton.... I can see it now... Shock

I do have a very soft spot for Mr Carson... Blush

RosalindFranklinsNobelPrize · 06/11/2011 23:20

Anna is going to be so up the duff, and Bates will hang.

CJCregg · 06/11/2011 23:29

I don't think so, Lady Georgina Grin

They're going to string out the Matthew/Mary shit for the whole of series 3.

Lord G didn't boff the maid, though, so she can't be up the duff. I liked their parting scene, thought it was one of the few that was actually attempting subtle. (Mind you, they were lucky Carson was in bed with the 'flu, otherwise he was duty bound to walk in on them.)

How does Mrs H know about them?

LadyHarrietDeSpook · 06/11/2011 23:42

Is Jan Moir on this thread? Out, out yourself I say.

She's been very funny on Downton.

FrightNight · 06/11/2011 23:46

In our house we love the dogs arse in the opening credits. So Lord G is in fact Lord Dogs Arse.

Anyhoo totally loved tonight. Although would have liked Cora to have snuffed it.

Im totes into bad, mad Sir Dick. Mmmmm.
