quite liked the American Franciscans though Grin

Tommy · 25/10/2011 23:35

and, also I'm more surprised that they let Clara IN - far too immature to make a decision like that

Eyelasher · 25/10/2011 23:35

oh yes fgs

and the model with the WORST clothes sense ever and a penchant for chinless wonders

ExpectoPatronum · 25/10/2011 23:35

ha ha, just came on here to post about that.

Was nearly in tears about Clara going in the enclosed order, just kept thinking pleeeeaaase don't.

The bit where her little brother sent her a picture saying he just wanted her back for Christmas nearly did for me.

Eyelasher · 25/10/2011 23:38

i HOWLED like a dog

DONT GO CLARA TO THE ISLE OF WIGHT OUT OF SEASON< just spend 5 months in your bedroom

Missed the first ten minutes. Was this a one off or a series?

The letter from the little boy was heartbreaking!

The blond one didn't appear to me to be sure about it. It was IMO the best thing for her not to join yet.

Eyelasher · 25/10/2011 23:39

the blonde one just need to escape from her bizarro evening wear.

her sisters were desperate to say DONT GO YOU LOON but bit tongues well

Tommy · 25/10/2011 23:39

not sure the model one would fit in where she wants either TBH

Tommy · 25/10/2011 23:40

think it's just a one off

ExpectoPatronum · 25/10/2011 23:44

The model one (did she have a name? I want to say Catherine but perhaps not) said something about how she didn't have a strong feeling that she should be a nun, but didn't have a strong feeling that she should get married either.

Well how many 25 year old new graduates do you know who do have a strong guiding sense of exactly what they should be doing with their lives? I'm 36 and still waiting for mine to kick in.

Eyelasher · 25/10/2011 23:46

i think she was called "Blondie" hth

Felt sorry for the Mum!

Eyelasher · 25/10/2011 23:51

the mUM got her into it - what did she expect?

OP posts:
ExpectoPatronum · 25/10/2011 23:53

I always think it's interesting on these programs who they don't speak to.

Clara's teenage brother & sister didn't make any comment, did they? And no sign of Blondie's parents, just the Sloaney sisters.

SurprisEs · 25/10/2011 23:55

One thing that stuck with me:

The teen saying: how can the live without make up?
Well, some of us manage.

Eyelasher · 25/10/2011 23:55

they ahd a point Wink

I noticed Blondie didn't manage to give up her mascara. Grin I think she was trying to convince herself she wanted to do it because as she said, she'd been saying she would since she was four years old. If you say something for that long people tend to think you mean it and expect you to go through with it so I think she was having trouble backing down iyswim.
I personally didn't take to the american nuns (for a start, coming here as missionaries, bit of a cheek I thought, we do have our own nuns you know Wink), I thought they had a faint air of smugness about them. Plus they were fairly embarrassing with the class of teenagers, who let's face it all totally missed the point anyway. They had lovely singing voices though (the nuns, not the teenagers!).

SurprisEs · 26/10/2011 00:49

One of the teens did mention that it warbling God made them so happy. Not in these words exactly.

Yep, I noticed the mascara too. And the earrings. She was definitly not sure about it.

I was surprised the other one went back home though.

josephinebonaparte · 26/10/2011 08:01

Bloody hell. So pleased Clara came back. It would have been such a waste.

ggirl · 26/10/2011 08:06

blondie only wanted to be a nun so people would comment on how attractive she was for a nun...and so she wouldn't have to be responsible for her ghastly outfits anymore...there's always a deep seated reason ....arf!

steamedtreaclesponge · 26/10/2011 08:22

I was sooo relieved when Clara left the convent - her family were obviously devastated. And I definitely think that the nuns made the right decision about the blonde girl, I don't think she was really decided about what she should do.

I loved the american nuns! They were so happy and jolly. The thing about coming over as missionaries to the UK in 2009 really made me laugh though.

Tommy · 26/10/2011 09:34

agree with comments about Blonde - "shall I be a nun or shall I get married?" - errr, there ARE other things you know!

I was also a bit baffled by the fact that they didn't show any of them with their parish communities or doing anything that might suggest they wanted to live a religious life Hmm

Eyelasher · 26/10/2011 09:41

i really commend it to anyone who didnt se eit
