This business of the live audience is shite anyway, I liked the old audition room where they herded through a million at a time. And didn't the audition shows used to be longer - about 2 hours?

they were- and really clinical and scary- just the judges and an empty room (realise this was just what we saw on tv, and the back stage/other auditions were prob different). I have not warmed to the live auditions-too much like Britain's got talent, which I loathe, for some reason.

they did! they used to last all night, popstars had the longest auditions tho. we used to sit in my bedroom half the night only leaving for food and juice .. them were the days even tho if i remember correctly, popstars had shouty davina
