Only when he derides women drivers.

WishYouACrappyChristmas · 04/12/2005 20:03

So yes then

Yes, but get him on other subjects and I'm afraid I find him very funny.

pupucelovesruDOuLaph · 04/12/2005 20:04

I think it's a very funny programme

falalaala · 04/12/2005 20:05

i like star in a reasonably priced car and the mad races/treks they all do - like the one where JC drove and the others took public transport to a ski resort.
i hate it when they do the pantomime stuff like 'do you want to see the lap' to the audience, who all respond 'yes'. would love it if nobody said anything in response one week.

Janh · 04/12/2005 20:06

We like JC (but have to admit that he can be a bit of a git). Love TG though.

WishYouACrappyChristmas · 04/12/2005 20:07

Well, that Zonda sounded nice just then, and it's now at the top of the power car lap times. Actually, I find him v. amusing most of the time, just sometimes I want to stuff a finger up each of his nostrils and tug hard..dunno why really, maybe it's pmt?

secretly fancy James May

WishYouACrappyChristmas · 04/12/2005 20:10
Shock
OP posts:
falalaala · 04/12/2005 20:13

although the terrible shoes he's wearing tonight almost put me off.

WishYouACrappyChristmas · 04/12/2005 20:16

don't think much to his stripey sweater either.

I am not in the same room as the TV but I can hear Top Gear right now and ds1 (aged 9.5) laughing away to it. That says it all really, don't you think?

ItllBeLonelymumThisChristmas · 04/12/2005 20:19

Mind you, dh is giggling away now too.

Wish James May would sort his hair out though

falalaala · 04/12/2005 20:29

yes agree. but i can live with it. find him intriguing. and he's in a different league to JC and small sidekick.

WishYouACrappyChristmas · 04/12/2005 20:30

bit 'foppish'?

OP posts:
falalaala · 04/12/2005 20:33

i don't think so - he's witty and knows his own mind. when i think foppish, i think of hugh grant in notting hill, or four weddings apologising all the time. don't think of James May like that.
gosh, must stop going on about him.

falalaala · 04/12/2005 20:36

blimey, go ellen go!

ItllBeLonelymumThisChristmas · 04/12/2005 20:38

Well, no derogatory comments about women drivers after Ellen's lap time eh?

SpringCrimboTurkey · 04/12/2005 20:38

Cracks me up how they keep gong on about his teeth

hornbag · 04/12/2005 20:40

lol at "small sidekick" ...if only he was a bit taller I could quite fall for him

FrostyTheGloworm · 04/12/2005 20:45

DH has just come out of the bath and sneeked up behind me saying "oooh mumsnet mumsnet" in a sing-songy-voice

Followed closely by...
..."aaaahhh, Am I missing Top Gear? Why didn't you tell me it was on!!!"

vickiyumyum · 04/12/2005 20:54

must be funny, i can hear dh laughing and he is two rooms away with the doors shut!

Bozza · 04/12/2005 21:02

Well thats where DH is. He's a rally fan and I watched that tribute to Richard Burns with him scf. I did think that was quite sad and JC was definitely emotional.
