I lurve it. am reading the book too, but trying to not peek ahead. I love Daenrys(sp) and Arya.

I cried such a lot. and now have a bit of a girl crush on dany (and a full blown one on Jon)

I've read most of the books so I know which characters to get attached to and which to keep my emotional distance from :) I can't wait til it's out on DVD! AAAAHHHHHHH!

The books are fantastic. Book 5 is finally coming out in a month after waiting bloody years! The series is so how i imagined it too.

I read that they are starting to film season 2 next month and showing in 2012.

I'm itching to buy the books but will it ruin the series for me?

I too love Jon and also believe him to be the son of Lyana and Robert based purely on Ned's love for him and his appearance being so very "barathian" This alone is rather worrying as i was told recently that i look like (this person imagines) Lyanna stark.

I want to be Dany. (not least cos she got to shag Drogo into submission)

Also adore Tyrion. He is a great character, very clever and nothing like as evil as his siblings. Nearly threw up when it showed Cersei with Roberts Squire. He is meant to be her cousin or nephew or something isn't he?

I simply cannot wait till next spring so will be reading the books in between.

This morning DH said they'd ruined the whole series with the final scene (he is a bit melodramatic ).

I said, 'what? The dragons? They were so cute.'

He said: 'Exactly. Dragons aren't cute.'

I thought of saying dragons didn't exist but left it. As I said, he can be a bit of a drama queen and I didn't want to shatter any more of his illusions.

But surely baby dragons are cute? All baby animals are cute :)

My point, exactly Ephiny. But DH is likely to boycott the 2nd series over the issue of the unconvincing portrayal of dragons. Because the rest of the show was such a faithful depiction of reality, wasn't it?

DH says that the guy who plays Jorah Mormont (the one that helps Daenerys) sounds exactly like Swiss Toni from the Fast Show.

Was in the only one that took about 3 episodes to realise Bronn was played by Jerome Flynn? I thought he was great. so very different to his usual roles.

Was it only hinted? It's made pretty clear in the books. Well, clear that Ned believes him to be so, anyway.

I thought it was made pretty clear in both series and book. It's the parentage of Jon that's hinted at in the books, though interestingly the series hasn't really gone there...

yes i was quite pleased with his appearance amongst those off to the wall too.

I don't think it was ever vocalised but it was pretty obvious.

The only names I could reliably remember were Robert, Ned, Drogo and Tyrian which means I won't be able to name many people in the next series.

No-one who isn't on the wall apart from Arya and Bran ever really thinks about Jon again, as far as I can see. I think that GRRM is never going to tell us the truth of his parentage. Ned+?????, Lyanna+?????, someone else entirely.

Jerome Flynn, Mam0zon? You mean as in Robson and Jerome? I hated them. I might have to boycott it myself now.

Stannis is Robert's brother. Not the gay nipple-shaving brother (Renly) but the not-yet-seen stern serious brother, who is older than Renly and therefore Robert's heir if he has no trueborn children.

Of course Renly and Littlefinger and everyone were right that the laws of succession didn't exactly apply when Robert took the throne from the mad king, so why not just sort things out with swords and gold this time as well?
