I think there is a thread about this, but I couldn't find it.

I nearly gave up on this after finding the first two episodes a bit hard to follow, but I thought it really got going last week - its getting exciting now.

Anyone else watching?

Spoiler buffer continued!!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We didn't know who the guy was at the memorial service, nope, as far as me and DP reckon, we haven't seen him before.

Glickman must have been discovered, because Gabriel told the smoking boss cop that he'd spoken to him, and the smoking cop boss asked when, and Gabriel replied "before he died".

Yes, reckon the customs ice queen is involved in something.

Think I need a lie down, it's all so baffling, following the money and the drugs backwards and forwards!

sparklyjewlz · 12/06/2011 15:31

Maybe shady bloke at memorial service is Counterpoint!

limitedperiodonly · 12/06/2011 18:03

The biggest life lessons I take from this are to avoid making tomato sauce and men in black leather gloves

Spoiler ctnd

**

The funeral was for Jonah's son, wasn't it? Not Glickman.

strandednomore · 12/06/2011 18:12

I think the smoking man at the funeral is M15. Customs woman (actually Border Agency I think) isn't in on it - I reckon she's a goodie and we'll find this out at the end. It's a double bluff because she's so horrible. What about Gabriel's boss? I thought he hinted that he had sent Gabriel in to try and find out what was going with corrupt police officers on so I am hoping he's a good 'un!

Err and what about the "commander" at the yacht? Who is he?

You don't think it'll be like Lost and they'll all be in purgatory at the end????

sparklyjewlz · 12/06/2011 18:22

Don't answer the door to men in hats!

MissHonkover · 12/06/2011 19:20

Yep, limitedperiodonly, it was for him, not him. Otherwise the ...er... container would have been too small. Spoiler hopefully successfully dodged.

I thought that the funeral and the memorial service were different things - tho I could well be very wrong Grin
Either way, the bloke who was talking to the dodgy uniform cop (Gabriel's boss's boss) was 'new' which is reassuring - as it means I have been paying some attention; tho it doesn't feel like it a lot of the time!

MissHonkover - Of course, I forgot about that quip! So obviously they found him ... and must be investigating but we're not party to that.
Sparkly - Good point. Could well be.
Stranded - don't like her. Think she must be bent. Grin I think the guy with the yacht has something to do with the Delany stuff - he may have 'taken early retirement' as a result of it ... and probably knows a lot about it all but won't spill.

Do we realy have to wait until Thursday to see the end of it????? SadGrin

Oh and Stranded - yes, I think Gabriel's direct boss is straight as he had a go at Gabriel for going over his head. Not in the ususal sense but because he wanted Gabriel to uncover the corruption.

Please forgive multiple babblings ....

I didn't think the memorial service was for Glickman. Don't think the police would be there at all, let alone in uniform, if it was - unless he was undercover or something high profile police-wise. I got the impression it was for Delaney ... but, like I said, I am probably wrong. I thought the scene at the church happened after the scene at the grave ... not sure.

MissHonkover · 13/06/2011 08:08

Agreed, I didn't think it was for Glickman either. There was a close up of a memorial stone just before it, which I think was for a councillor that we hadn't heard of. I didn't get the impression that who the service was for was important.

Yes, I think it happened afterwards as well.

I love your thinking re the police being there, you've given this some thought haven't you? Grin Have you, like me, read enough crime novels to actually be a member of MI5?

Thursday's a long way away, with my sleep deprived brain I'll be lucky to remember who any of them are by then.

TigersChick · 13/06/2011 13:05

LOL @ not remembering things - I was reading the synopsis of the 3rd episode before it was on and there were 2 character names that I couldn't place! No idea who they were now but felt like I wasn't following it closely enough at the time Grin

I love crime dramas and books ... and how do you know I'm not in MI5?? GrinWink

limitedperiodonly · 13/06/2011 13:52

MissHonk I'm going to have to watch it again. I obviously wasn't paying attention Grin

Tiger was one of the names Ratallack? I think that's Freddie Fox, the rent boy, but I don't remember them using his name. I could go and look it up but I really should be doing something else.

I forget most of the names. I have Glickman, Bede, Gabriel, Gatehouse and might have Ratallack. I knew who Andy was but I don't need that any more. Everyone else is a blur.

mosschops30 · 13/06/2011 19:18

Oh god i think i compleyely missed the memorial, when was that, i saw the bit with gabriels wife and the other woman at the graveside.
What did i miss?

MissHonkover · 14/06/2011 09:28

I could tell you, but I'd have to kill you. Grin

PinotGrigiosKittens · 14/06/2011 10:51

More Jay this week I hope!

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 14/06/2011 11:46

I know, I've really been missing him!

I know what you mean. The writing's quite stylised isn't it, and some of the performances are too, which sometimes feels too much.

limitedperiodonly · 14/06/2011 12:28

The stand off between Gabriel's DSgt armed with a wire coat hanger and the undercover customs officer with a gun was a bit silly but I was willing to overlook it.

In that context Gatehouse's Lazarus-like defeat of Dr O'Hara from Nurse Jackie made perfect sense.

MissHonkover · 14/06/2011 12:32

Yes, deliciously improbable, wasn't it? Somehow Blick's getting away with it, because it all feels so ridiculously high quality. It's like Stephen Poliakoff and Quentin Tarantino got together to write The Bill.

limitedperiodonly · 14/06/2011 12:35

That's a brilliant idea. Go on, pitch it.

I'd love to see their treatment of cop-shop steward Reg Hollis.

Grin Miss Honkover!

MissHonkover · 14/06/2011 13:01

Thanks. I'm a frustrated Alison Graham. Grin

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 16/06/2011 22:12

Yowser.
Don't want to say any more in case you're all watching it on iplayer, but i didn't expect her to do that.
loved it, in all its preposterousness. the ending even made me feel a bit icky about being married to a detective, even though i know it's fiction Grin
